| I painted my laminate countertop 18 months ago, I had looked at the rustoleum kit, but I found a less-expensive, less time-consuming kit from giani granite. I have no ties to the company, check out their website, fb page, and also on youtube. good luck! |

| I think the giani kits are in some wal-marts, there is a link on giani's website so you can find the nearest store. I did my kitchen countertop & island in Nov 2011 - no problems at all. I did apply an extra coat of the sealer. Also, I think the "key" is in the prep of the surface area, practice on sheets of black posterboard, and take your time! In Oct 2012, I did the vanity top in the hall/guest bath - it was a "faux marble" with integrated sink, so it took a while to get it taped but now it looks like it's a undermount sink. the company's fb page has tons of before/after pics from homeowners, and be sure to look on youtube, peferrable the ones from the actual company - techniques on veining, different patterns, etc. I used the sicillian sand kit in the kitchen and added some acrylic craft paint from the local craft store (copper, bronze and a silver-sage color, then dipped in a toothbrush and did very subtle flecks). In the hall bath, I used the same kit, but used more of the darker color than what I had used in the kitchen. Two complelety different looks w/the same kit! I watched a lot of the postings on youtube, the fb photos, then had a list of questions before starting - the customer service rep was very helpful and answered all my questions, then I placed the order. |
