I am wondering if I have to remove the clear shiny coating on brass sconces before I apply a verdigris finish from a kit? I am lazy!

just sand, clean and use your kit. Don't know what product you are using?

No, and I suppose the fixture is just a brass-like coating, not real brass. So i just sand and go. Sounds good! Thanks!!
