I am having my two story foyer painted a New England Yellow on top of the chair rail and was wondering what I should do below the chair rail. I currently have a Howard Miller Grandfather clock in the foyer which has yellows/greens and creams in the clock. I was thinking of doing a cream sheen on sheen striped finish, but not sure. Any suggestions would be very helpful.. Thanks bunches

I am very fond of golds, greens, tans, and browns. What if you did some striping then applied a faux glazed rag off finish on the darker stripes. That would look sharp with the chair rail being white. Also adding a hint of red sporadically spread out in the faux finish if you go with Green stripes. What is your flooring?
