Once again, I have no better place to vent than this Cleaning and Organizing board, so please bear with me - and thank you for listening. My last post was about my Eddie z's wooden blinds that were installed in two rooms in our house and turned out to be defective. With lots of frustration and inconvenience the issue was solved, and we got different good blinds now, one month later. A few months prior to this, we purchased a new frige, that was connected to the water pipe (ice maker) wrong way, and as a result it leaked. When leakage happened we were out of town, and when we came home we could not enter house through garage/kitchen door because the wooden floor we had swell and piled up. After contacting the company so many times and almost going to the court, we gave up and just replaced wooden floor all over the house. In less than one week new wooden floor at the middle of the house literally bubbled up, because as we learned later, the worker did not install the entire layout correctly. Also planks on the stairs came off. When we contacted the worker who was a private party we were ttold that he was sick with the stroke, and were asked to leave him alone. I just purchased a nes kitchen sink, a cast iron good quality not cheap one, guess what? I have to clean it up with bleach every single day, because there is a half-size of the sink strane spot that probably was not coated properly, and it stains immidiately from any dark colored liquid I spill to the sink, from left over coffee to carrot broth. I am bleach allergic, but nothing else works, how fun. Now, we ordered a $2000 front door from the HD, it was installed yesterday. Today we noticed that it does not shut off properly, the entire structure shakes and rattles on top. Handy man who put it in , who charged us 3 dollars short of $400 to install it, is promising to come and fix it....if it is possible, he said. I can't take it any more. What do I do wrong that everything I try to do or fix or buy does not work properly here???? I am so frustrated, but at some point it is even funny. Oh, one more, a good one. We remodeled our summer residence this summer, kitchen and bathroom only. It is a rental, so we did not too fuss around. Ordered everything through Home Depot, and used their installers and builder constractors, gave them the keys. When we came to check on the progress, they *forgot* to hang protective plastic screens, and white dust was ALL OVER the house, on our furniture, our carpet, tv, window, I meal all over. ARGH.

OMGosh, you've been having some bad luck lately On this board I've mentioned many times... always pay with a credit card so you can dispute the outcome if it's not to your satisfaction, generally the credit card will stand behind you and dismiss the charge and take it up with the dealer/contractor. If you hire someone that doesn't take credit cards, that's a red flag and usually means they've had too many incidences against them, I learned this the hard way. These days everyone knows about You Tube, just tell the contractor or whom ever, you are going to record the results and put it on You Tube so everyone can see the shoddy work, and then if you have to, do it! We, as consumers, have to have some sort of recourse short of hiring an expensive lawyer, report to the BBB is also a good start. Good Luck

Hi SR, . Yoou are right, most people who we hire do not take credit cards. Whoever remodeled summer residence, they we the Home Depot contacts, we did pay with our credit card. As a result they paied for the cleaning crew to come and clean the house from top to bottom, total of $300. I mean, the poor jobs have been corrected in the most cases. And usually it takes TIME to do so, like with the blinds. And they usually gove us a hard time, no one is running back to us to fix the problem. They would argue with you and try to convince us that it was all our fault, like with the blinds. The bottom line is, nothing is done correctly at the first time. popele do not have any pride to provide quality services, everyone is in a big hurry to finish job asap and go home. As my experince show, the general attitude of the business in nowdays is Whatever.

We found out what is wrong with the door. because it was ordered as one piece, a door and two side lights, the manufacturer made a mistake. The door itself is built uneven, there is a gap between door and the frame, on the right side, and that is what makes it ruttle. My choice is either live with this door, it won't leak, it will just make this loose ruttling noise when is being shut, or try to complain - loooong process.
Here we go again, I said to my husband. On top of it, Ashley furniture delivered a new dresser this morning. They brought it in, placed in our bedroom, and the man gives me to sign the delivery paper. Knowing about my latest good luck, I said to him wait a minute, let me check is everything works properly. SURE ENOUGH!!!!! one of the drawers opned up, but won't slide back in. What the heck, I could not believe it. Husband also noticed that the dresser does not have a fresh smell of polish and wood, all this new smell. probably it was sitting on the floor for ages. (They suppose to put together a totally fresh one. We refused to sign, they will deliver another one next week. Unbeliavable. It is $900 dresser. This message has been edited. Last edited by: MyDesign,
