Hi All!

I hope you guys can help, as you're my "Go To" source.

I have two, white, leather (probably some sort of vinyl) chairs that MUST be cleaned. They are FILTHY!!!

They have been cleaned periodically, using an assortment of cleaners ranging from Dow Scrubbing Bubbles to Mr. Clean.

I have rubbed off quite a bit of the dye and now I am left with a dingy, unsightly GREY monstrosity.

The chairs while very inexpensive (Sam's) are so comfy and DURABLE. I never expected them to last this long and I really want to do something to make them look better.

Any suggestions? Can I "paint" or dye them?

Help! Anybody?

go to the general decorating board and see if someone there saved the instructions that Magnverde once posted on painting a fabric sofa.

I clean my white vinyl furniture with just a hot water rag. Probably the cleaners used were too strong.

There are shoe sprays that recolor vinyl shoes, if you check with a shoe repair shop. You might also check with a large auto supply store. They used to carry colorant sprays to change or recolor vinyl and leather car upholstery.

Lady of Shallot and Conrad,

Thank You! Thank You!

I have been putting up Christmas decorations and finally came back here to "open my gifts" from you guys!

I will find that info on painted chairs and will also look into the vinyl paint. I didn't think of either, so I am very grateful.

Whatever I do, I will come back and post. Thank you so very much!

Assuming it is upholstered in vinyl, there are how to sites regarding prepping and painting it. The above is one.
