It stopped in the middle of a cycle- no lights- nothing. have checked the circuit breaker 3x and the other ones, just in case it was mislabeled. Worth repairing or buy new. It is a 5 year old Kenmore and I have not had much luck with appliances I have bought from Sears- just what I need before Christms and , of course it didn't make to any rinse sycles before it died- ugh!

First: Check to see if there is a switch for it in the cabinet doors under your sink? Sometimes even a fuse there? If it were tripped or switched off by accident, you would not notice a change in the house circuit breakers.

Check the electrical plug/socket. Is it on a GFI? That may have popped and need to be re-set at the outlet. Usually it's a red button and says "reset" right on it. The outlets go bad sometimes too. We have replaced some that just stopped working. Good luck! ~Like sands through the hourglass ~So are the days of our lives

Once you establish that you have power at the appliance, and I would be surprised if it were on a GFCI, try posting in the appliance section at handymanwire.com Jeff1 over there really knows his stuff and can guide you to figure out if it is worth repairing, what the likely failed part is and a link to buy the part. Be sure to give him the make, model and serial number. You'll need to register to post but its free. Well, that is terrible news. I hope you can get some answers. Our washing machine started to stop during the cycles, etc., so had to have the repairman come out. $129 for about 5 minutes worth of work (the drain was plugged, not totally but enough to cause the washer to have problems) but it had to be repaired and was less expensive for us than buying a new one. Anyway, my girlfriend just mentioned that her dishwasher is so quiet, she cannot even hear it running. Her's is a Bosche (sp?). Naturally, I am completely jealous. I have never had a quiet dishwasher.

Good point on the drain. We have a Bosch and it does have a small drain that can clog. People seem to like to use the dishwasher to remove stickers from glassware, new plates, etc. Where do you think those pieces of stickers go? Newer washers are quiet. Same thing on the Bosch. I have to look to see if the light is on to determine if the machine is on. It has a sensor tray underneath. 1/8 inch of water and machine shuts off. I like that. That's why we bought Bosch.
