Hi All!

I'm just curious. Is there any easy way to remove what appears to be permanent marker on kitchen cabinet without harming the finish or stain? Seems the people in this house before us marked their kids' heights on the inside of one of the taller pantry cabinets. I haven't tried the Mr. Clean scrub bar thing yet. Just wondering. Thanks for the help!

If the finish is a poly, try this first?
Use a dry erase marker (marker board pen) and mark "over" a small spot of the permanent marker, then immediately attempt to wipe it off with a soft cloth. Check the finish, if the mark does come off.

Best to test any cure in a small area first. If you try any Mr Clean type eraser, do just a bit and then see how it looks. I imagine it will take the marker off, but may dull the finish too. At least the marks are on the inside of the cabinet. Wink

When my granddaughter was younger she wrote all over the vinyl back of the driver seat in my car with permanent marker. I used WD40 to get it off. It didn't hurt the vinyl. Not sure if it would work on your cabinet but you might try it on a small area to see if it will work.

be careful the the magic eraser. I used it on marker on our kitchen table and it took the shine out of the finish. There are 2 noticable dull spots on it.

Thanks for the tips, everyone! Since I've got some wd40, I'm going to try that first. If that doesn't work, I'll move on to some of the others!

Thanks again!
