Any ideas?? I know it's NOT an expensive item, but wondering?? Here in NE, can't just dump in water with a little ammonia... could freeze solid. Maybe adding cheap-o dollar store rubbing alcohol??

I just watch for sales, and get the winter stuff cheap. But if you really want to make your own, check below. http://www.ehow.com/list_75019...ld-washer-fluid.html

I personally would rather purchase the cleaner...better protection against freezing. I did find this: http://www.diynatural.com/home...shield-washer-fluid/ Lots of other links: http://search.yahoo.com/search...UTF-8&fr=chrf-ydwnld Sherry Does this hat make my butt look big? www.keepyouinstitches.blogspot.com http://s193.photobucket.com/al...9/keepyouinstitches/ www.friendsofthedaingerfieldpu...library.blogspot.com

For myself, this isn't an area in which I would try to cut corners especially since the real item isn't all that expensive but the ramifications of a homemade product might be!

I agree with store bought here too, just not worth the time/trouble. Choose your $ battles, in other words. There is a really good commercial winter one, that I try to stock up on at the end of the season, on clearance . (I think it might be called fire and ice? or something similar?) It can truly help to clear the windshield of frost/frozen moisture, even without scraping.
