MLV's post on her homemade soap has prompted to ask these questions. Do you have any recommendations for soaps, detergents, shampoos, etc.

I have been having a bout with eczema for the past 6 months. This is my first....at age 62. I have been to the dermatologist, read everything I can find, and have been trying to change/eliminate products, etc. I am really ready for it to end!

I was just wondering if you have any input! Thanks!

Grapefruit,

I will check some of my books this weekend and get information for you that might help you. It is frustrating to determine the cause of sudden changes when you had no prior problem.

Thanks for the inquiry! Unfortunately, I have come up with nothing. I am anxious to see if warmer weather makes any difference.

I really do not know what else to try. The steroid creams stop the itch and remove the rash....BUT it just comes back when I stop using the cream ( you cannot use it forever).

I may try to make some detergent this summer, after I see what warmer weather does!

I am trying to use more vinegar and baking soda for cleaning.

I have a BFF who has suffered with psoriasis just about all her life. She has psoriatic-arthritis. The best thing that she has found to help is a few minutes in a tanning bed or in the early morning sun. Not a lot of sun...just 5-10 minutes or so.
