Which one did you buy the ones with a plastic base or glass base? I ask because I have been wondering how the glass ones hold up to temperature changes. As well as how sturdy is the glass is?

I have both and they do really well. I do like the eggtainer it holdes 2 dozen eggs and does not take up a lot of space in the refrig. I use it in our RV. the lid fits tight, If you have ever had to clean up a dozen broken eggs off the floor you would like the tight lid. Just ask my DH.

I LOVE that these are made in the USA!
But I'm not so sure I'd like snapping four separate "flaps" to close and open them. Isn't that a pain?

I have lots of older Rubbermaid and Tupperware canisters/containers that serve my needs well, but some are wearing out. I've been browsing around for eventual replacements and saw the Snapware, but... Thinking about those flaps has me doubtful I'd like them.

I have a Tupperware container (juice) I bought at a neighbor's Tupperware party in 1976 (thought she was inviting me to just meet my new neighbors! LOL!

BUT I'm afraid of all the chemicals it might have that aren't safe.

NO those four flaps are not tedious or a pain as they keep things so air tight and are very easy to pop. Really like this Snapware!

I have a number of Tupperware products that I have used for years - mostly marinating pans that have stood the test of time - but I have never heard of Snapware?

Might just have to check it out for my brown sugar alone - it becomes nearly concrete-like after 3 months at the altitude/low humidity here. Last time I needed to break some up, I put it on the driveway and backed the Ford 4x4 over it!

Planning to check out some Snapware containers after reading this thread!

MarcyDaisy, thanks for the tip. I've never heard of Snapware. Handie Ann, I need the egg container for our camper frig. Anything that doesn't take up much room!! Idaho, low humidity???, sounds wonderful to this Georgia gal right now

Idaho, do you keep your brown sugar in an air tight container? If it dries out, put a clean paper towel that has been barely dampened inside the container. Should soften it up in a day or so. I've actually seen "sugar disks" that are made of clay. You soak them in water, towel dry them and put it in the container with the sugar. Same thing -- the sugar absorbs the water from the disk and becomes soft again.

Georgia Peach, the eggtainer fits great in an RV frig. I use a glass snapware for chopped onions. And I also use the clay disk for my Brown Sugar. I have not used the smapware for my BS because I don't use much bs any more so some is kept in rubbermaid container and I have some that I just leave in the original pkg. and close it with a clip.

Yesterday I went to Costco. I looked at the Snapware glasslock that you can use in the oven as well as the microwave, freezer and fridge. Unfortunately stamped on bottom of the glass containers was "made in Korea". The Rubbermaid containers are still made in the USA.

Ohhh... That's disappointing.
Moral of the story - Always read labels.
