The top rack of my dishwasher is not cleaning articles there well. What is the matter? Water temperature is 130 degrees.

Fayeboo, This isn't my area of expertise but a couple of suggestions come to mind. First, the obvious, stacking. Any chance your method is stopping the spray by putting larger items on the bottom rack that are trapping the water from reaching the top rack? Secondly, the spray itself - could there be a clog in the filter so that, even if the water temperature itself is correct, that the water itself simply isn't coming out full force? Not sure how to determine that one since the dishwasher stops as soon as the door is opened. I do know there are products on the market to cure that problem if that is the case - usually by running several loads on empty while putting the product into the center of the appliance directly below the bottom rack. Hope someone with more mechanical knowledge than myself will come along with a better explanation!

Does your DWer have a sprayer directly under the top rack? The spray arm directly under the top rack on my DWer had a problem and wasn't rotating. Water pressure is what makes it rotate, but something had it stuck. Husband checked it out and fixed it. Also, make certain that whatever is on the bottom rack is not so tall that it prevents that sprayer from revolving. It's interesting when our dishwasher goes kaplooey after ONE year; AND, one of dh's colleagues experiences the same thing around the same time frame. Back to washing dishes by hands and having a huge drying rack for the dishes. OK....smarthouse architects....are there chips installed in these appliances to be set for smartphone set up? If so, what if we don't have it set this way? I began thinking if this is the case: how easy it would be to create a malfunction to give service contracts "purpose" that people don't really want to purchase. I just can't figure out why it went out after one year. Hub thinks it's the water that spilled on the counter and ran down the front. But this just isn't making sense since all the electrical components are inside, right? This message has been edited. Last edited by: trish212,

sprayer holes could be clogged and if it snaps off like the newer dishwashers you can clean it .If not buy the bottled dishwasher cleaner .I used it on mine to clean it and now it works greatThis message has been edited. Last edited by: sissy77,
