A guy is cleaning our house before the walk-through and I asked him what he recommended and here's what he said:

Hardwoods: swiffer and mop w/warm water if it gets really dirty (wring mop almost dry).

granite: warm water or multi-surface cleaner

porcelain: warm water or multi-surface cleaner

If he has a greasy area that won't come clean, he uses a tiny bit of WD-40!!!!!!! Not sure I'd do that.

Hardwoods - yes. I have hardwood in one room, my sewing/quilting room and have only used a dry Swiffer (with an old wash cloth attached) spot cleaning with a damp cloth if necessary.

Granite - I don't have any

Porcelain - when I had it - Multi-surface cleaner

WD-40 is good for a lot of things and will get dissolve old grease as well as sticky residue like from price stickers, etc. (It is not recommended as an arthritis remedy - check their webpage.) You just have to wash the area again with a multi-surface cleaner.
