help, just realized I left my lipstick in a pair of jeans; washed a load of laundry and then put them in dryer; took clothes out before they dryed and some of them have lipstick on them - what should I use to take the stain out - help.

Check out Mrs. Clean's website for how and what to use remove the lipstick. Most websites will tell you to treat it as a grease stain only. The problem with that is the fact that lipstick is a combination of grease, wax, and pigment. I also like that article because it deals with a tube of lipstick washed in the washing machine and then tossed in a dryer.
The first thing you want to do is remove as much of lipstick as you can. Make sure you dab, not rub the lipstick stain. If you rub you will push the lipstick further into the fabric. Work from the outside edges in towards the center so you don't spread the stain. Use paper towels or some other absorbent material you don't care about beneath the stain to absorb the lipstick as you apply the stain remover.
Also make sure you work with the lipstick coated side down on the paper and towel and apply the stain remover from the other side because you want the lipstick to be absorbed by the blotting material and not worked further into the fabric of your jeans.
Treat the stain as soon as you can so it doesn't set any further than the damage that was already done by your dryer. Good luck I hope you have some rubbing alcohol, dishwashing detergent or ammonia in the house if you don't have a grease remover commercial laundry pre-treater. If all else fails you can take your jeans to a dry cleaner.
Check out the Carbona products, #6 is for lipstick. I use them all the time and I have always been very satisfied with them. They come in small yellow bottles and are available in some grocery and hardware stores. This message has been edited. Last edited by: 16paws,
