I have used Playtex plastic (rubber?) gloves for over 50 yrs when washing dishes (the few that don't go right in my good old Kenmore dishwasher!---- PROBLEM:--THE same finger--POINTER finger wears through everytime--there has never been a time when the left glove or any other finger even looks worn ,JUST that one. DO you have this problem? ALSO: It seems they are a lot thinner??This message has been edited. Last edited by: marcydaisy,

I suspect you are right handed. You bend and stretch the right pointer more than any other finger. You use it to pick up dishes. To hold the dishcloth. To grab the scrubber. You bend and stretch it more.

I think JoW nailed it. If you want some that last longer, you may have to buy from an industrial cleaning website. Or get a pair of black ones (for heavy chemical use)from the box stores. Wow, you know I have not had a pair (except for the black ones above) for more than 40 years?

Don't know if you're aware, but Playtex makes two different weights of glove. Their "Living" gloves, packaged in cardboard (I think) are heavier and longer-lasting than their "Handsaver" gloves that come in a plastic bag. I haven't seen the boxed ones in stores for years, come to think about it... But their website does show they're still produced. Also, try going to the next larger size. Mine seem easier to puncture with a fingernail when I try squeezing into the large size if I can't find any extra-large at the store.

In my area most of the drug stores carry the heavier Playtex...at least Rite Aid does. "The soil is the source of life, creativity, culture and real independence." David Ben-Gurion

I have a feeling that happens alot -- last year I bought 2 pair of rubber gloves from the Re-Store -- they were really cheap and a great bargain -- I thought ;-) When I opened them up, all four were for the left hand!

MLV, so you turned 1 inside out and used them up. Right????

Mmmmm, no. I'm not home right now or I would check, but I am thinking that they were backed with something, making it difficult to use them.

LOL... In my really frugal days, I did turn the odd glove inside out so it could be used. The rubber, which was then inside, could make it pretty tough to slide the glove on. But then I'd sprinkle baby powder in it, which made the impossible possible. I don't do that anymore. I splurge on a new pair of gloves.
