Ok, how is everyone doing with the storm on the east coast? Worried about you guys there. If possible, can you check in with your location and an update?
CCM, I, too, worry about all those in the path of the storm back East and hope they will post as they can. There's a current thread on the Food board about precautions to take and preparations people can make ahead of time. Stay safe all....
Glad you started this thread, CCM, as the other thread isn't really giving up-dates as to the storm itself and if it has hit and where? They're probably all busy taking cover so let's hope when time allows, people will start posting HERE to keep us up-dated as to what is going on back there!
Some may be interested in watching what's going on. There is a webcam with sound at Coopers Beach in Southampton NY that will probably have some interesting sights, if it is still operating and has power when daylight comes. Just google for the link.
DD lives in Westchester county NY. Schools are closed and DSIL did not go to work which is in lower Manhattan (office closed) Roads closed there too as is public transportation.
We are still waiting for hard (If any) impact to hit us with the full moon tonight.
EAstern PA (ALLENTOWN) area--we have rain and wind but they just said SANDY is up to 90mph and will hit NY coast around 8PM!
They want everyone OUT! Even Jim Cantore (weather.com) had to go off camera to clean out his belongings as his hotel is closing due to the emergency plans in NYC.
Weather channel is 24/7 about Sandy! It's worse than anything anyone there has seen or read about since they've recored weather in USA!
HEre we'll get the brunt later but still strong. We are stocked up and told we could lose electric for one week! PRAY NOT.
DARK outside, and my arthritis says this is going to be bad! Prayers for those along the coast and the emergency responders!

Lots of wind and rain!!! Really starting to whip up pretty good now. The hardest part is the 'waiting'. I just hope we don't lose power. Just got a phone call 'no school tomorrow'. (I work in a school) The hardest part is the 'unknown'. Used to snowstorms, and know how to prepare, not this.
4:38 here in Fairfield, CT.on Long Island Sound. Getting lots of wind and rain. Has picked up considerably within the past hr. Just heard our power sub station is in danger of flooding so they are shutting down our power to minimize further damage to the plant. So we will have no power for the next 24hrs. at least. They have asked people to evacuate in our beach area and of course some didn't heed the warnings so now they are having to emergency evacuate these folks. When will peolple learn? Stay safe everyone.
