Steam Press
DH violated the "Nothing with a cord" rule this Christmas (but he did make up for it with his other presents -- so that's okay) and got me a steam press.

I had seen them before and was interested for I do a lot of pillowcases, tablecloths and napkins.

I LOVE it!!!! I wish I had gotten one years ago -- the napkins are perfect, it makes ironing tablecloths a cinch (and I may start ironing sheets).

If you iron a lot of flat things, it does make sense to get one. And actually, they're not all that more expensive than a really good iron.

Cool!
A couple of older friends had purchased used commercial "Mangles", similar??
They always said also that it made ironing those napkins, sheet edges or cases fast and easy!

I started with one probably 20+ years ago when my 3 boys were young, DH wore lab coats, and time was at a premium. I used it for EVERYTHING so I lowered my ironing board a bit and it sat permanently on there. It was wonderful! I used it until it died and then, at that time, I could not find one that steamed, so I went back to the regular iron...it wasn't long before I had DH & the oldest son doing their own ironing.

Summers are just this side of hell, but you don't have to shovel sunshine...

Yes, the old-time 'mangles.'

I think Sears and maybe Penny's still carry them or a local appliance store may be able to get some in.
They have made a come-back of sorts.
I was just thinking about them Sat. as I was ironing some flannel shirts.
