I can't seem to find the BSM anywhere. Home Depot and hsn.com are both sold out, and no other store seems to even carry it. I called Sears, Kohl's, Kmart, and Target. Amazon.com has it for $180 ! Is it because of Mother's Day? Or is it always like this? Sheesh!
wow.... I know I did not pay near that much from Amazon.com. Maybe everyone should contact Bissell and ask them to start offering it again. I got mine from Amazon because it was about $10 cheaper than Bissell (at that time Bissell was offering it!). I paid around $70, but do not remember the exact amount.....

I got mine at Walmart for around $70 and I threw away my swifter (that just pushed the dirt around). I did try it on my hardwood floors, but dried it with a towel. Good luck in your search!
I got mine from HSN--on TV. I had checked the Bissell site, and there was a blurb on there that it would be available on a certain date on HSN, so I made myself a note, and......
I don't have a clue why it's not available at more stores. I love mine. I do reccommend ordering extra mop pads, because when the pad gets dirty, then you are just smearing around the dirt that has built up on the pad. I think that's why swiffers make such a mess--they get dirty and we just keep mopping. Just yesterday, I used the Bissell steam mop in our master bath, and I used 2 or the pads--could have used a third, as the second pad showed dirt also. I have a lot of buildup from swiffer mops that has to be cleaned off our floors.
Your original question said that your floors have areas that are missing the hardwood finish. I would think you would want to dry the floor with a big towel after you steam it. Here again, the steam mop doesn't leave much moisture until the pad gets saturated, and so you'd want to keep a close watch.

i'd be very cautious about using steam on wood floors and older ones more so...if you have worn spots i'd consider sanding all the floors, and sealing with a poly...
