if you type "what do I do if my fish tank loses power" into Google, you will get MANY helpful replies for exactly this problem.

A lot of the responses are from serious hobiests, so their ideas may cost more than you can afford, but many replies are simple and can be as easy as wrapping the tank, or adding warm water in plastic bags to maintain heat.

Good luck.
it depends on the fish and how long the power is out. if it is just simple tank and gold fish for a couple hours don't worry, take the lid off to allow more oxygen into the tank.

one suggestion includes simply reaching into the tank, dipping out a cupful and pouring it back into the tank every couple hours to keep it areated.

Life is GOOD!!
