DH has been doing some caulking on drafty corners (Logs) of our house, so since he has some things pulled out, I asked him to just leave them so I could clean back there...it'll prob be Monday, tho, as we have plans tomorrow.

I did a good cleaning in Jan. for some reason and haven't done anything 'deep' since then!!!

It is window washing time for me (April and Oct). I usually clean the light fixtures and ceiling fans in each room after I clean windows there.

And of coure if I am pulling out furniture to get to the windows I also end up vacuuming back there.

We are having beautiful weather right now..it's so pleasant to be outside..so I am taking advantage of that and doing some transplanting, garden clean-up,etc.

not so much house cleaning, but things like fans (power washed, sun dried and wd40'ed) screens replaced, window ac's removed, enclosed our water feature and put in water heaters. still have to repair a hole made when they replaced our outside faucet.

bought jobs tree spikes for a last tree and shrub feeding... and the darn persistant spider webs...been trying to get them under control inside and out...

the leaves havn't started falling in ernest yet, and that's a never-ending job...much rather go on saturdays to see dgds play soccer, lol...(age 5 and 6, lol)

OMG...I have such a mess! Need a break, so I will vent here.
I have been attempting to go through stuff in the basement storage room. You know that black hole that all the great and useless stuff accumulates...after 25 years?
Well I got MOST of it out and now the boxes of stuff are all over the downstairs family room.

I see many hours of HGTV in my future as I sort and purge by the TV, for next spring's garage sale. (the only things going back into that room are garage sale items) So by next summer, the room will again be EMPTY. Big Grin

(Good thing I got started now, as I MAY actually be ready to move in two years, according to our two year plan) Smile

The thing that I have personally found with doing major cleaning reorganizing jobs like yours, Conrad, is that the stuff I've removed from wherever seems to mate behind my back and I swear I have 10 times more stuff now "out" than was in the area I'm attempting to organize. I've noticed this time and time again and I haven't even had the luxury of living in any one place for 25 years!

You are so right, Charcoalsmom! And that first generation had little ones and continued the litters!
I now need the rubber band on the wrist, snap trick...to keep me sorting and not getting lost in the boxes of old memories. It is a mental, as well as physical workout for sure. (Good thing is the boxes are usually not actually full, so there are bound to be fewer of them, when sorting is complete)

Apart from getting the blinds cleaned, not much actual cleaning. Instead, I try to clean before Christmas, before decorating.

The big one is "the seasonal clothing switch", which means I will clean the closet completely. Everything comes out and the shelves get wiped. Summer clothes go to storage or to the charity pile. If I did not wear it this summer, will I ever wear it... If not, then bye-bye. And then winter clothes will go in the closet.

I love doing this switch twice a year, it is almost like getting new clothes. And it keeps the closet clean and the amount of clothing under control.

I have posted a couple of times about my current "Whole House Purge & De-Clutter". I can add "and Cleaning" to that, as I have found what a joy it is to clean newly uncovered nooks and crannies and assorted horizontal surfaces.

Each weekend (Sept. thru Nov.), my whole family (me, DH & 3 teens)are tackling one room or area of the house, completely emptying it, and getting rid of A LOT of stuff before cleaning and re-organizing it. Every third weekend is off. In the spring, we paint. It feels soooooo good!

Just hand over the Blue Bell and no one get's hurt, seeeeee?
