I have NO idea where to put things! What a problem...LOL! I guess it will sort itself out. Going from a side-by-side to a bottom freezer. Summers are just this side of hell, but you don't have to shovel sunshine... Click on the left to show albums http://s76.photobucket.com/use...brary/?sort=3&page=1

We'll be receiving our French door fridge on Saturday, replacing our side by side. I can't wait to have to have that problem!! Let us know how you do!

Well, being a lover of my side by side GE refrigerator with the special "left-over" containers, I'm not sure if my opinion really counts, especially since I have a relatively small upright freezer in the garage and the small freezer space in the side by side seems to be the major reason people are trading in sxs for bottom freezers but here goes: Put all liquids on the top shelf - milk, water, juices and iced tea. DO NOT put the jugs of milk in the door as many have posted that frequent openings of the door reduce the cooling factor. Do put condiments in the door ~ especially those that can survive with minimal refrigeration. As for the bottom freezer unit? Divide in half ~ lengthwise. Put half of the meat on the back side with vegetables, breads, soups and sauces toward the front. Then do the same on the other side. Makes it easier to "rotate" everything so items don't get "lost." Enjoy your new unit!

Yup, as you use it, it will sort itself out. I assume the shelfs are somewhat moveable. A friend and I have identical units but we each arranged the shelves differently. You have to figure out what works for you. I keep the top shelf for stuff I use less often. The bottom shelf is liquids (water, milk, etc) because we use them most. Next shelf up , at eye level, is leftovers so I don't forget them. Don't be afraid to rearrange after you have used for awhile.

I tried looking at photos but I don't like how the advertisers arrange things. The shelves are movable. Idaho - I never used the "left-over" containers from the 1st frige, but I recently found them and will put them to use now. I do like that extra wide drawer for yogurt. We buy a ton and they were always stacked so you had to rummage through them. I had already cleaned out the freezer in the garage so I would have room for stuff from the old kitchen freezer. I need space for turkeys, bulk buying from Schwans, and large pizzas that the sxs couldn't handle. This morning I spent a couple of hours going through the pantry. Threw out a lot... I decided that our next project will be roll out shelves in there. I have already shown the the DIY ideas to DH. I'm off to buy groceries- I'm hitting the "refresh" button on my kitchen LOL. Thanks for you comments! .This message has been edited. Last edited by: KG in CA, Summers are just this side of hell, but you don't have to shovel sunshine...
