grrrrrr, i hate when my can opener gets rusty. so gross. is there such a thing as a totally stainless opener? on amazon they have a wmf opener that is stainless but i am skeptical. anyone have one of those? any ideas, anyone??

Gosh, I have never had one rust. I have an OXO brand manual one, and also one of the cheaper types that trim the lid off without a sharp edge. I just rinse the blades if needed, and lay them out to dry for an hour or so, and back in the drawer they go.

Get a swing away one. The cheap ones aren't worth the metal they're made of. Oxo makes nice stuff too. We have a Kuhn Ricon brand. LOVE the smooth edges after the can has been cut. Don't have to worry about little fingers (their's/my own) getting cut. AND....I love how clean it stays. It has many other opening devices: helps to lift canned sealed items/bottles. My hub is a lefty and wasn't fond of it at first. Now, he's quite the pro and can see the benefit in this gadget.
