I think it's amazing that HGTV doesn't promote new seasons. How can they be so dense? The only way you know if a series is out of reruns is if you happen to catch something new...and most of the time, there have been SO many reruns, you're not even checking anymore. Color Splash is back, new on Saturday nights, with a new twist that's fun. Deserving Design is a much better series now that there is a new production company. I notice the same one that does Color SPlash now does Deserving Design. The series is so improved and the people seem deserving, and Vern is likable. Why wouldn't HGTV let anyone know to tune in??

I am so MAD that they have put Color Splash on Saturdays at 9:00. The worst is that it is mixed in with re-runs. What gives? I LOVE David and HGTV doesn't deserve him with this schedule.
Deserving design was great last night. The design was fabulous and the couple was truly deserving. Oh....and NO candles! I think this season is going to be good. If you missed it, you should catch the re-run.
Doesn't your TV menu said whether it's a new show or a rerun? Mine does, and I love it because I refuse to watch reruns, most of which have been on 100 times. I watch so little HGTV these days that it's almost 0.

LOL! Too true, too true. I thought I was the only one bothered by the wall candles and fruit bowls. The worst though is when he makes a candle chandelier! Who on earth is going to climb up on a ladder to light some t-lites every night? There was one time when he put a cake with strawberries on a coffee table to give the room color -- that bugged me so badly! Hehehe...I know, I sound crazy, but that was like cheating as far as I'm concerned.

That might explain why his judging skills lack making any sense.
Vern is about as boring as they get; he has yet to come up with a great design to impress me. I do appreciate that he always feels weepy about his clients though, maybe thats why his designs are B-O-R-I-N-G......

I think you're right - when they started putting on Hidden Potential back to back for a couple of hours each night I figured they were trying to work up some enthusiasm for that horrid show. Would love to see a clearly stated "new season". Is anyone old enough to remember when September WAS the new season (of whatever show) and reruns were only shown in the summer? Now it seems you see a couple weeks (if you're lucky) of a new show and BAM, there is a rerun. Then they change the night - another couple of reruns...pretty soon my poor ol' brain is so confused I don't know when or if the show is still on.
People complain that Vern's design is boring, but think about his clients on this show. Do you think any of them want cutting-edge design?? These are middle-American folks who's homes are traditional. How could Vern possibly please them and showcase trendy design? Get real. He does a great job of doing what the homeowners like, listening, and making the rooms functional.

I JUST LOVE DAVID.. WE WATCH HIM ALL THE TIME .. THEY KID AROUND AND HAVE SUCH A GOOD TIME .. NOW MY PARENTS HOUSE IS AWFUL ALL THEY DO IS ARGUE AND YOU REALLY DON'T SEE THEM ACTUALLY DOING THE WORK THEY JUST TALK OR ARGUE.. TAKE IT OFF THE AIR.. YOU CAN PUT DAVID ON 7 DAYS A WEEK AND I'D WATCH... THANKS..
As for me, I love David's show. This season there are more splashes of color and looks very high end. There is nothing he had designed that I didn't like. Sometimes the color may not be what I would pick , but he is not designing for me ( I wish he would though)the HO appears to like it each time. He is truly talented and is a genius. I would love for him to come to my house and design my dream master bedroom. I watch his show all the time and by far my favorite HGTV show. I have to watch Vern's new episodes. They have the same production company now and his show was moved to saturday before David's Color Spalsh.

I second what Otro said. I am tired of Myles of Style, she is just not that good. David's group has great chemistry. I never end a show that I don't think I want to give them a great big hug and have them come to Texas and do my bedroom. I know what I like but just can't out put it together where has class. Give David prime time. Some day his paintings are going to be worth alot of money. David you may need to be a bully to get them to give you more time. You have taken over Candace Olson's first place with me. At least yours are affordable. You have to have money to recreate her designs. Love you David from someone that would love to be your MOM!!!!

Thank you so much KTJ. Were still in shock for receiving such a wonderful makeover from HGTV and Mr.Vern. Mr. Vern is a very humble man with great insight on what a family needs. We will be forever grateful to the people of HTGV and people like you. Thank you so much Gretchen

It is amazing to me that HGTV has so little knowledge regarding marketing. By having David on Saturday nites they have lost a lot of us. Don't they realize that weekends are for family or husbands that won't look at a decorating show?. Do they think that I am going to retreat to any other room to watch David when my husband is home in the evenings? As a family, we treasure the time that we have together,as I am sure most of the families do.
I love seeing these shows on Saturday night. that's one night I can really relax and watch TV. I live alone, as a good percentage of the country does, so I appreciate having quality shows on the weekend. Weekends are only for family when you have a family at home! Mine are grown and gone.
PS I just had to go online to see how many people in this country are single (single, divorced, or widowed) and the number is nearly 50%. Wow!

When they moved David's show on saturdays, I was really very disappointed. Weekends are for family activities. However, later I realized his show will be competing with the shows on the prime channels. Perhaps saturday nights is not a bad switch after all. HGTV have also moved the other good shows like Divine Design and Deserving Design on saturday nights. ON weekdays I hardly watch HGTV. I watch the other big networks shows. These channels don't have good shows on weekends, so on weekends I tune in to my favorite show on HGTV, which is Color Splash.
All of the above comments, including mine, just demonstrate how difficult it must be to be a programming manager! Trying to please most of the people most of the time must be a real challenge.
Then too, with the shows on hand at HGTV these days, there isn't much quality programming to pick from. Guess that's why they put their only heavy hitters on Saturday night.

I hear you, but one show I saw Vern paint a room blood red. It looked awful! There was nothing traditional about it. I kept wondering, how can you relax in the room when EVERYTHING was red--the walls, furniture, and those darn red apples again. If I have to see Vern use a bowl of fruit one more time.....
