I have enjoyed LIOLI and have become annoyed with one part that if they fix that, I think it will fix the majority of the rest of the issues.

The "rules" should be that the homeowners remodel budget is not going to include any hidden problems. I think that some of the homeowners whining about not getting this or that when it is their house that won't pass inspection because of old knob and tube electrical is rediculous. So the homeowners either put up extra money to cover their problems with the house or they pick what has to "go" from the list.

This would get rid of some of the tention, whining and complaining. I like the back and forth between Hillary and David.

I like the idea of the owners having to put up extra money or pick what comes off the list! Yes, all they do is whine when Hilary can't work miracles with a measly budget! Good idea!!!

I agree that the whining takes away from the design element of the show. I believe the design and rebuild budget should be separate from construction and age of home issues. It seems to be a bit unrealistic that the families are prepared to buy a new home for hundreds of thousands but cannot refinance the currently owned property to cover the cost of unexpected issues.

That is what makes me go hmmm, too! They have all this money for a house but yet not enough to fix their house to sell or keep it?

I watch lioli just to watch David. I think he is hilarious. I don't see how he keeps from just choking some of the home owners when they are living in a death trap that they havn't cleaned for months and then get all persnickety about any newer house David shows them. I realize it is planned that way but it really irritates me. I'v also noticed that newer home buyers on HO's are the same way. What really got me last week, these two guys were looking for a larger home and wanted a older mid-century type. BUT when they got to looking at the fact they did not have baths ensuite and stainless/ granite kitchens they got all upset. Shezz!

Love the show, but it drives me nuts that homeowners whine about the cost of fixing/replacing their crummy foundation, aluminum wiring or leaky roof.

How do these couples expect to sell their defective old place so they can buy a new place? Who's going to buy a house with a crumbling foundation or bad wiring without a huge discount off the listing price? What lender would issue a mortgage on a house that is a certifiable fire trap? Are home inspections not done in Canada?

David can quote any value he wants, but the fact is that some of these houses would only sell if there were no other homes on the market within 150 miles.

Also love the messy couples with cheap furniture and old appliances who look down their noses at other homes on the market. How about the family of four with 30 pairs of shoes stacked up in their entry? Are there no closets in their house? Your bad housekeeping is not the house's fault. Give it a break!

The show is getting really annoying because its always the same unrealistic story line. Hillary is an amazing decorator, but, anyone with that kind of experience working with older properties knows that issues can arise when you start to remodel. The show is on entirely too much, I'm starting to tune out....

LIOLI ought to talk to Mike Holmes about renovating these properties. As with most of these types of shows, I don't beleive what they are accomplishing under the "budget." I'd guess the real costs are sometimes triple or more what they are claiming. It's camp and entertaining.

I agree with other posters--I love "Love It or List It", except for the homeowner tantrums aimed at Hilary when she finds serious defects in their homes. They should be thanking her! Very distracting from the show. Hilary's designs are beautiful, which keeps me watching the show for now, and I think the homeowners are extremely disrespectful of her. While David can make some funny comments, he can also grate on me when he goes after Hilary.

watched 2 episodes today and really was impressed with the end results, one was a very hard to please couple, the othe a G** couple, both ended up loving the homes, just again like the same ole pattern of not everything getting done and cuts and horrible reactions of the HomeOwners, the first show the couple even put extra money for the windows, which surprised me,

I do object to the endless repeats and advertising
But again Hilary does do a great job
and she can come to my poor outdated home anytime
