I love HGTV and have watched it for YEARS. I enjoy a little house hunting in the States, and maybe a little in a other countries, BUT ENOUGH ALREADY! It just seems that when I'm able to sit down and I'm looking to watch an awesome decorating show, there it is - another eposide of House Hunters or HH International. PLEASE HGTV GET BACK TO YOUR DESIGN SHOWS!!!

I detest all the house hunting shows-absolutely too much. I was a faithful hgtv FAN, BUT THERE IS NO DECORATING ON THIS CHANNEL anymore. I miss all the designers. Dislike Property Virgins, Holmes on Holmes, House Hunters International andf most of the crashers show. This channel really went downhill.

It is starting to get overwhelming. I wish they would go to more houses with personality. More vintage, less cookie cutter.

I like House Hunters but they show too many newer homes with no personality. I like the old Victorians, that time period. And then you have these spoiled, entitled house hunters who ruin it for the viewer. C'mon, it's not the end of the world if a house doesn't have a high end kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. Or a garden tub or huge shower with all the goodies. Get real! That really puts me off when they turned their noses up at some of these older ranch style homes. It's just cosmetic and can be changed.....

I about fainted earlier today. When they showed the house after the purchase the woman said the hardwood floors they wanted, are hard to keep clean.

And don't forget, we get House Hunters all day long. Think I will plan my day between the opening and decision at the end of the show.

Today was no holiday - so no reason for a HH marathon or anything like that.
And, the darn show was on for EIGHT HOURS STRAIGHT -- from Noon to 8p...and THEN AGAIN...from 10p to midnight, and then again from 1-3a.m.

That's 12 hours out of a 21 and--a-half hour day program day.

DIY is doing the same thign with Renovation Realities. The shows are very cheap to produce compared to a hosted series.

Maybe the solution isn't to complain to HGTV. Maybe what we ought to be doing is complaining to our cable providers and CCing the e-mail to HGTV.

By that, I mean, send the cable provider an e-mail saying that HGTV is a waste of our money and that we would prefer they drop it from the basic cable line-up in favor of a network more interesting programming.

Don't have a clue if that would work, but it couldn't hurt, right?

It probably would not work with my cable company. Scripps and Cox Cable jointly own the Travel Channel!

I hate when they show anything all day long. Please give us a variety. There are no decorating or craft shows anymore. I like the House Hunter shows but the people on there drive me nuts. They are so whiney and entitled. They complain about the smallest things, they all have champagne tastes on a beer pocketbook. Get real people. There are people out there homeless and you complain about a little road noise or the color of the walls. Get a life.

I saw this thing on the ABC World News the other night, this woman was complaining that the House Hunters show she was in was fake. We've known that for years. Did she not know that? Is she just out for her 15 minutes of fame? Please, give me a break!

Are you kidding, and add another shopping channel to the line up of useless television channels? Style network used to be on basic cable, then they wanted to go to a digital format and they moved up the dial to be replaced by a shopping channel. CSPAN2 used to be on basic cable but they also wanted to go to digital and now has been replaced by a shopping channel. With my digital and HD service we have hundreds of channels and I think at least 50% are shopping channels. So, no, as poor as it is some days, just leave it.

I used to love this show, but now it's all about the negative issues, everything that won't work for the home buyers. I'm beginning to think that they know which house they want from the beginning, and the show just picks 2 other houses to show the viewers. Also, the the buyers say "it's a little small" about 5 times every show...so annoying.
Edit: I just read the other thread, this show is fake! Won't watch it again.

LOL - So, which of the so called reality shows on the air on any network do you think has no staging?

I AM SICK, SICK OF HH, HHI, and all of the "reality shows" HGTV has resorted to!! There are no quality shows in the programming anymore! Sad to say, after being a fan for years, I hardly ever watch HGTV. I'll watch again when Sarah's shows start back and I did enjoy the show featuring the design firm in Nashville. Where are these shows???

Another couple this weekend could not have a 2 story house cause if they had kids they were afraid they would fall down the stairs.

Everytime I turn on HGTV HH/HHI or Holmes or Homes is on. ENOUGH ALREADY with the HOUSE HUNTERS!
How many darn shows do we need to see of people looking for a house? Property Virgin, My First Place, and HH is the same darn thing!
Get back to basics with the decorating

Maybe we need to start an "Enough with the House Hunters Already" Facebook campaign!

Ehhh,

With the exception of the re-runs, I don't mind House Hunters, it's Love It or List It that gets on my nerves!!!

Even after all of these years, I still enjoy viewing the different style houses and learning what real estate sells for in other areas of the country - Not to mention HHInternational - which I consider a stress-free and cheap way to visit other countries. Smile

Was watching HH last night and this gal from St. Louis was trying to find a home with character. I think she ended up with a 30s Tudor. It was nice to see older homes for a change! There was a show before that, oh, it was the Rehab addict and she was doing over a couple of older homes. Refreshing!

Different people have their different wish list so you dont say about any other stuff cause the things which you dont like doesnt mean it was dislike by all others.
