So much is fake on this show you don't know WHAT to believe...
The show has done both Desta's (Hilary's design assistant) house -- AND the house of one of the contractors.

So did they really get their houses done on the show's dime -- Paid to be on the show AND paid in the way of getting their houses done? Talk about double dipping.

OR. Didn't they not get their houses done, because those weren't even their houses and producers needed a show so they stepped in.

OR were the houses done in LIEU of some salary.

It's likely a bit of all of that. Perhaps producers needed shows at the last minute they knew they could get in the can without really taking the time to cast and scout people...so why not use people you know are available,
you know are already good on camera, and know the format of the show.

What ever happen to the idea of if you work for or with the company you can't benefit from the show?
Sort of like if you work for the lottery, you can't play the lottery, or if you work for a radio station, you and immediate family can't enter the contests.

i saw those shows and they almost ended a working relationship! I don't think they should do those kind of shows on that argument alone.

Did see on Income Property, Scott, helped his brother in law with an student income house. Everyone got along great! So I guess that is the exception to the rule.

If I didn't like Hilary before, I absolutely hated her after watching the way she treated Desta during her reno. Desta didn't like the way the renovation was going so HIlary had all the workers walk off the job to teach her a lesson? I hope for HIlarys sake the show was scripted or else that woman is really quite the piece of work.
