Why is it that basic HGTV and HGTVD programming differs?
Ditto, the food network (cousin)

On my cable system the schedules are identical. HGTVD is shown in high definition but other than that it is an identical schedule. I also have HGTV On Demand with my cable system that I can watch selected shows when I want.

General Disclaimer

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.

My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Whenever we developed such other different products or software then its natural that the programming coding will be differ than the previous one cause one could not have a same logic.

I don't know the answer to the question. Only a guess.

I get DIY but it's not on an HD channel. I get HGTV both ways.

Most people seem to watch new episodes of Rehab Addict on HGTV while both versions of my HGTV only show reruns. It's my DIY channel that plays the newest Rehab Addict shows.

So my guess is that it all depends on the offering of your service provider.
