Just enjoyed watching this show. I think both designers did a marvelous job. The winner was decided by just 2 votes and both houses are sold. Did anyone else get to see this episode?

Oh man, I'm bummed. I was at that taping. It was the first show they filmed and then changed hosts to Bob Guiney. I figured they would never air it!! If anyone hears when it might repeat, please let me know. Me and two of my friends who were there with me would have loved to have seen that episode. We were even interviewed a few times and wanted to see if we made the cut to TV. *smile*

the last 2 shows have been the new host...I like Bob much better.

cris...not sure what anything about Antonio has to do with the show this thread is about...plus I just went to his site and saw no mention of Jennie Garth.

I also like the new episode(May 25th). I thought both designers did a great job, although I thought he did a better job space planning. I didn't like the fact that he covered up windows, and his solution looked a little strange.

Does anyone remember if either one of the episodes with Billy as the host featured a master bedroom with a Hollywood Glam look? I remembered they were suppose to film two episodes in Newport Beach and now wondered which episode aired last week. There's another new episode this week but my onscreen TV guide doesn't give a location. I hope it's the one I attended. After watching it get filmed, it would be fun to see what parts actually make it to TV.

Wiley, the bedroom by Charles (?) had padded walls with covered windows. He also had a really different wall in the family room. It was made up of different angles and diamond shapes. Very modern looking.

this past week was in Newport Beach and the one designer was very glam oriented. I liked both designers this time altho liked the woman a bit better. The wall mriley mentioned would be old to me in about a minute altho it was pretty cool...maybe for a hotel or club somewhere but not in a room I spent lots of time in. I was actually a bit surprised he won...but thought it was cool that the votes were so close. I did not understand his need to cover windows in every room. I got the whole darken the bedroom but not in the great room.

That was probably the right episode. HGTV titled it Hometown vs. Hollywood so it would make sense at least one room would have a Hollywood feel. I just wish I could remember more about the homes. It was filmed last May and this old memory doesn't work like it used to. Padded walls sounds familiar but I want to say they had some ornate item in the bedroom too -- crazy headboard or fancy mirror? Or gold ceiling?

I liked Billy better than Bob. He was fun with the crowd before we were allowed in the homes. I was sorry to see that he'd been replaced. Guess I will have to wait another year until HGTV airs this episode again.

You're correct - that was the title of the episode. Next week's episode is Dallas, according to my dvr.

What else was interesting/fun about attending the taping, wiley? I'd be interested to hear more about your experience, if you have time.

Hey Astroluvr -- I love your username. Our dog is named Astro and we sure love him!!

It was just fun and exciting to see the large cameras they used -- especially the one that zoomed in on the crowd as we walked up to the homes. We got to see how many times they would have to re-do a scene -- something as simple as the group heading towards the homes. It was intimidating to walk through the homes and have cameras on you. Then I nearly had a heart attack when they asked me and my friend to discuss items about a room that we liked on camera. The process of looking through the two homes took about 2 hours because you had to wait for the crowd of 200 people to go through the homes and only so many people were allowed inside at once. After you finished viewing both homes, they take you in front of a camera and ask you questions on the homes and which one you voted for. While my answer was probably lame as I was very nervous, it was still a very fun and exciting experience.

I was a huge fan of reDesign and got to meet and know Kenneth Brown because of my passion for his show and his work so it was cool for me to see what it was like for him to film a show for HGTV.

We were given a date that our episode was going to air. So you can imagine my disappointment when the show on the date given wasn't our episode and the host was now Bob Guiney. I figured they canned our episode due to the change of hosts and it would never air. Now to know it FINALLY did air and I missed it is very disappointing. But hopefully it will air again.

Wiley, I can see where being there for the showing would be an experience. Wish I could do something like that some day.

Do you remember the lady designer's kithen? Blue upper cupboards, a single row of backsplash tiling that had a lot of circles and a refrigerator that was light blue with a white freezer part.

Both bedrooms were papered on the ceilings and they were very pretty. The bed in the hollywood room had a light blue padded headboard and it was shaped very ornately.

Unfortunately, I really don't remember that much about either home. There was one kitchen I liked much better than the other but why I liked it, I don't remember. I'm also sure I didn't see everything there was to see because there were many people in the homes at one time along with the camera crews which blocked certain areas. That Hollywood bedroom stood out because it was so unusual and a bit over the top. I thought one of the homes had some cool feature about the fireplace in the family room that was right off the kitchen. They wouldn't allow us to take any pictures of the inside of the homes -- only the outside. They didn't want us ruining the surprise by posting photos to places like Facebook.
