Why does HGTV always need to change the way some of their shows are, I like Dan, Rick and Sasha from the original Curb Appeal shows. Now they don't show the different views of homeowners and the way they change their homes, everything is done by the same guy and his crew. And why do they even have guys from reality TV doing hosting duties, I'd rather have people of more substance, no offense intended. Quit changing the shows, and putting on such fluff. Get back to what you did so well with some of your older shows and hosts. It was a much better channel to watch then.

I agree that some of the older CA shows were terrific - the homeowners used local designers and contractors The homeowners paid for the jobs themselves. Several of the renos, e.g SF Victorians, cost far more than 20K, years ago.

So, you object to John Gidding? He's an architect/designer - IIRC, the guys you mentioned above were TV hosts. Currently, John uses local contractors. As near as I can tell, his own people don't perform much of the actual work themselves.
