I really enjoyed this episode of Property Brothers. They spent more time during the house tours discussing remodel possibilities, and more time covering the remodel itself, not just the drama surrounding the remodel (and the new kitchen window was awesome). I think a lot of HGTV viewers try to be courteous and professional in our real lives, and we like to see that on reality TV, too :-)

I loved this episode and I loved the couple. Finally some sane homeowners!!! I loved the wood wall and I wish HGTV would have the episode available online and some pictures...Hopefully I will catch it again soon!

What city was this in? The properties were ridiculously expensive!

I don't know about this particular episode, but I do know that in previous seasons, these were all in Canada- I believe the greater Toronto area? (someone can correct me if I'm wrong on this)

But this season, I could tell there was a difference. The budgets were closer to middle class, and the general architecture and landscaping/climate appeared to be different.

So on one episode, I watched for any telltale signs. On a street scene, they showed a business, which I googled- and discovered that the episode was in Texas! So.... I suspect this season is all in the Austin Texas area.

Tomato, you're correct. It's Austin, although they may have slipped in at least one Reno episode for the current season. Both are close to their Vegas home base.

When I see "Reno" on the listing description, I never know if it is referring to the northern Nevada city or an abbreviation for 'renovation'.

But I could see them doing a show there, too.

I kind of wish they'd just tell us outright where they are- but maybe they don't want people out looking for the homes. (kind of like I did when we first moved here.... Trading Spaces did an episode about a mile from my home and we went looking for the homes that got the makeovers)

IIRC, the context and verbiage indicated "in Reno" (with a capital R) - not completing a reno. Makes sense, given that they live in LV.

I, too, enjoy knowing the various cities - don't care about the specific locations. The neighbors must all know b/c of their video equipment.
