the houses are always the same. and they do the work in the same area of the US .. getting alittle tired of them
The show is filmed in the same part of the USA known as Canada. If you don't like the show don't watch it. Complaining here isn't going to get HGTV's attention.
Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.
My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
I like the show, it is nice to see how a house can be redone.
The brothers were on CNBC this morning doing a little talk up about their show.
Edith, I'm not a fan or viewer but remember hearing or reading they aired 2 PB seasons from Austin, TX plus add'l episodes/season(s) of their new series Buy/Sell (BS?? sorry, lol) from TX. Have to agree - it must be boring but I'm sure they enjoy filming close to their homes in Las Vegas.
Also remember reading the next season (IIRC) of PB will feature Toronto, again. So, if you wait for the new season and skip the reruns, no more TX.
Otherwise, agree with your thread title - they have to go!
I know this makes now sense really, but to me, given that the brothers are Canadian, the fakery of the show was not distracting because I could rationalize..."well, they could be a realtor, and can do construction."
But when they tape shows in the U.S. all I can think -- when they say things like "come to my office".....or "I'm going to list the house," or -- is YOU are not going to do anything because YOU are not licensed in the U.S. to do squat.....and unless the brother who supposedly does the construction is licensed in Texas, HE is not doing squat either. SO the whole premise of the show is ruined for me. Like a fourth wall being broken or something.
Like I said I know it makes no sense.
I know it's all for TV (and Sandra Rinomato wasn't licensed either and taped Property Virgin shows in the U.S.) but that's just what makes the shows even MORE fake for me. (As if a show could even be "more fakes" This message has been edited. Last edited by: clbselah,
