TevaIncome property
I am a huge fan of Income Property. I have one question. After Scott finishes with those basements that start out in squalor and turn them into a HGTV masterpiece, does the furniture and decor stay or is it just set-ups for the final showing to let us see how beautiful they can be. If I was the home owners I would purchase it if necesary to help the rental.

bballdaysIt's my understanding they take photos (to show potential tenants) and then everything's returned.
Do you mean retain the furniture for staging purposes, only or retain it to rent the place as a furnished unit? What about tenants who have their own furniture? And storing the staging items inbetween the unit turning over?

rker321I believe that the furniture is for staging purposes only. then after the apt is rented they return it.

ACWhiteI also thought it was staging furniture - I think the stager does a GREAT job on that show.

AguaBellaBB's correct from what I've heard. It's used for staging and they take photos to show prospective tenants. Then, it's returned.
Makes sense b/c frequently the participants don't rent the unit immediately for whatever reason. For example, the last woman intended to live in the basement but then changed her mind, apparently.
JMHO.
