As vocal as I've been about HGTV's de-emphasis on design, I think there's real potential on Pay-Per-View for a Kardashian style "Kove it or Kist It, Starring Killary and Kave"...
And really, they wouldn't have to change much...

I love this show. I wish there was not a lot of reruns. I do not care for Love it or List it too. I guess its all about the hosts. David and Hilary work for well together and I guess the hosts of Love it or List it too has hard shoes to follow because they are no way even close to David and Hilary's ratings with me.
I love this show, but wish Hilary would explain to the owners how certain things are out of her control. Take them by the hand and show them what the problem is.
Also, please tell Fergus to shave that thing off his chin.

I love this show and never miss an episode, but feel they use too many "nick knacks" in their finished product. They could save money in the budget by scaling back on clutter items. Sometimes the kitchens have so many useless items on the counters, it's just not practical.

When the couples get all upset because Hillary can't give then something they want with the way too SMALL budgets they provide her (I mean have these people been living in caves and never seen a home improvement show in their life)...Hillary should show the cost difference for first those unexpected costs for the people who didn't get a proper home inspection before they moved into the house in the first place, and then the cost for those Wish list items - like adding a bathroom or additional rooms. I didn't realize there were still people that ignorant out there...[giving a list like adding two bathrooms, tearing down walls, replacing windows and adding insulation - all for a budget of $30000...dream on stupid]
I hate this show. It's not enough for these people that they are getting a great remodel for the money they pay (i'm sure they get the best money can buy) they are always either not impressed or disappointed with everything. When I start to see them act like that I just have to change the channel. Can't stand stupid people on TV. So if the way they react is being staged by the show, take note and make people be thankful they are getting the opportunity to be on TV and get a great deal in the process.
I love this show or should say LOVED -- until I saw the first show today with Jillian from the Bachelor - she's an idiot and I used to have this show set to tape but you can bet if it's not Hillary and David I won't be watching anymore. They never prepare for the disasters these old homes will have and the scripting of the way the people respond and talk to realtors viewing homes is unreal - I sold real estate never had a client talk to me like they do

I could not bear to watch this show with Hilary and David. Their commercials alone turn me off completely. What a snarky face she has and how nasty she sounds.
The sewing machine is another aspect of what I was saying about using too much of the budget on decorating. People have their own clutter items and don't need things like hand statues, sticks, 6-10 white vases clustered together, and pictures of bugs. Spend the money on the renovation, let the homeowners place the little things around the house.

I just love this show. I love how they make the featured family pretend to be angry with the hosts when they clearly are getting an amazing deal that no regular person would be able to get. the pretend drama is jolly good fun and the acting by the hosts and the families are always good for a belly laugh.I never miss the show.I do wish they would come and remodel my home . Image getting 100,000$ in renovations for 550,000 or my dream house far far less then real life. How do you get on this show?
Soosie, I think the commercials are far superior to the shows.
What strikes me as stupid is that they get upset with Hillary when she finds faults with the structure of the home. Most of these things have to be fixed before they sell their home anyway. In many cases, I'd bite the bullet and pay more to fix the place.

Just watched Colin & Beth's remodel-he was a total jerk, where does the show find these people, since this is one of many really nasty folks, we have decided to stop watching that part of HGTV. Love the designs & David's pick of house, it's just the customer's are stupid. Another section, the brother's Drew & Jonathon, they seem to pick the other group of totally bizarre people. To clarify, it's not the stars that I object to, it's their customers. Find some reasonable people
