Finally, HGTV has a show where the realtor stands up to the home seller and tells them exactly why their dud of a house isn't selling: crappy paint job, cheap fixes, and pie-in-the-sky pricing. After so many shows with realtors who sugar coat their comments, along come the Property Brothers with the unvarnished truth. How incredibly refreshing! I'm a huge fan.

Yes, love their new show! Buying and Selling with the Property Brothers is a nice twist from Property Brothers. Love both shows. Those two have the knowledge and personality that make a show fun and believable to watch! Please keep both shows going.

I think the kids were smarter than the parents. That dad was a ding bat and the mom, well, we won't go there. I could see Jon losing his patience with both of them! And he's usually patient. I like their new show.

I really like this show. It's a combination of HH and Design To Sell. The wife is very unfortunate looking.

I don't really care for the Property Brothers but I watched B&S. I have to agree with Debbieinohio about the family. The dad just seemed like such a whiner.

What I didn't understand is why they had to eat in the garage? The whole house wasn't being redone. Where were they sleeping? Probably not the garage since they were complaining about how hot it was in there. And I'm sorry, but they were supposedly only inconvenienced for two weeks and they were complaining about it. Your house is being redone, you got your 10 minutes of fame for being on tv, quit complaining!!

Melissa - Your first sentence gave your opinion; your second explained it. Now tell us why you thought your third sentence was somehow necessary or appropriate - what's wrong with you? Grow up!

Hate to admit it, but agree about the wife. But like they say, if you don't have anything nice to say about anyone, don't say it. I was more or less referring to their personalities.....

I've been watching the show since it came on, I like it's format and the brothers are very informative and seem experience contractor and salesman, they got to be the most patience people I ever saw on the show because most owners on the show are so whiny and give no confidence in the brothers..I wish their were less whiny owners, and give the brothers more credit..

This is a much better format for these 2 brothers. I didn't like the earlier show; this one is watchable.

I tuned in late to this episode where the father appears to be a widower downsizing so he can fund his kids' college education. However, they're talking about selling his current house at $225 (after investing $9K to update it) and he's buying a $175 house? After commission and closing costs, why bother?

I must be missing something - perhaps because I've only seen two episodes and missed the beginning of one of them. Would someone please tell me: What is the rush on this show to remodel/sell/buy?

Yes, the couple with the three little girls wanted a house with a better lay-out... but other than the need to create drama for a TV show, WHY was there the stress of doing everything in such a short time? They weren't being evicted. There was no imminent job transfer. They just wanted something better.

I enjoy seeing what the brothers can do with the remodeling, staging, etc - and watching the people house hunt has its funny moments... but the fake emergencies due to an unexplained time crunch are irritating. I don't get it.

Property Brothers is definitely my favorite show, but I enjoy Buying & Selling with Jonathan and Drew, too. Please send them to the metro Atlanta area - preferrably, Roswell GA. We have a ton of oversized homes here that need updating. The weather is great and the people are, too!

I've done two reno's on two different houses. The first took over 4 months, the send about 2-1/2 months. The difference with these TV show reno's is that I did not have work crews and camera crews onsite 24/7. In order to film the shows, the work schedule is compressed into a much shorter time frame. We should cut the homeowners a little slack - I'm sure it's a lot more stressful than what most of us have experienced in real life.

Grifsy, with the one episode I've caught so far, the urgency was that their boys were accepted into a much better school and the year was about to start. They needed to move and buy a home in the new district so their kids wouldn't lose their spot.

I heard that the widower with 5 kids needed the equity to start paying college tuition. But, as someone posted above, a move from $225k house to a $175k house isn't going to go terribly far. Let's hope the kid's grades are good enough for scholarships and/or the family's situation is enough for financial aid.

Thanks, Jewel. The "beginning of the school year" time restriction makes some sense.
