Vanilla Ice goes Amish? Brother vs Brother with Drew and Jonathan? That is very interesting. I can hardly wait. LOL Thank you for sharing this info.

Daryl Hall was on an episode of the last project This Old House completed. He apparently does a TV show from his house with other musicians and is quite an old house kind of guy.

The Brother v Brother concept sounds like Love It or List It.

Unfortunately HGTV and Food have targeted a younger demographic than the folks that gave them their start. We've aged, they haven't. They are still somewhat better than 99% of the garbage on TLC. It would be nice to see some decent DIY type shows and decent decorating shows on TV again, but they've decided there isn't any money in it. PBS has to make do, with the exception of the This Old House franchise with 25 year old reruns of Bob Ross painting happy trees and 40 year old reruns of the Lawrence Welk show and British produced content from the BBC.

I'm surprised someone who is Amish would allow themselves to be ****ed for TV. They're not usually big on being photographed let alone videotaped. Vanilla Ice doesn't surprise me, he's an entertainer and will try anything for a buck. The Amish in my experience growing up just outside of Amish country usually have more dignity that this.

TV is changing, and at some point if it continues the way it is going, I can see pulling the plug on cable and just getting my content off of Hulu and Netflix for pennies on the dollar for what I'm paying today. The content providers keep charging the CATV companies more and more and forcing them to bundle their channels together. The CATV companies pass the cost on to the subscribers. At some point ala carte is going to happen and the whole model is going to blow up on the content providers. How many of us would subscribe to more than 20 to 30 channels if we could pick and choose which ones we wanted?

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.

My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Funny the content police ***'d out one of the words rather than putting it up for censorship. It wasn't a curse word, but does deal with someone who arranges short term companionship, if you know what I mean.

Actually, HGTV is a little tardy to the part-ay. The Amish have been featured on reality TV for some time now: Amish Mafia on Discovery and Breaking Amish on TLC are big hits, apparently...even though there are those who claim the shows are fakes.

I love how Vanilla Ice and similar future hosts are referred to as "faded stars".
