Saw the show tonight only because TiVo started recording.....5 pm??...was glad I stopped and watched. Thought Sabrina and Chris did a remarkable job re-creating the room. 5pm?..is a little early for me to sit and watch though. Thank goodness for TiVo.
I loved the show too! It is fun to see Sabrina do a room with some really bright colors after so many beige rooms getting homes ready to sell. This is one of my favorite shows.
I like this show and wish it were on more often. I am getting tired of House Hunter and want more decorating how-to.
The comic book inspired man cave? Yes, that was spectacular. Nice to see her branch out.
I thought Sabrina and Chris did a great job recreating the couple's basement lounge for only $3,000. Lots of creativity and stretching a dollar on this show. Isn't that what most of us need? Style without busting the budget.
Yes, but, as with Sara, HGTV is doing its best to hide the new episodes--and then convince the marketers that real estate is what's wanted.
Something else the newbies may not know....HGTV intentionally buries good design shows with new episodes on the weekends...in the afternoon no less, not even a prime time airing.
And also, while HGTV repeats HH and the like to the point of ad nauseum, it doesn't re-air these good designs shows at all. And we're talking about hosts and designers who were once in prime time, and have a fan base!
Nor does the channel promote these shows with promos (hardly if at all.) Unless you happen by some astronomical chance to stumble across it, you'd never know it was even on.
Looking at the small number of shows HGTV is airing,it is amazing the network is still going
hiding the new shows which are deemed popular and not letting us see them again is foolish on this networks part
HGTV is digging their own grave, sighting an early demise of this once popular network
You know what I find truly appalling?
The horrible cynicism of HGTV.
I love Sabrina's spirit and work ethic. Have always loved her genius for re-purposing.
Love Sarah, Candace, Carter, Cynthia, Karen, Kenneth, Lisa...people with true design commitment and concept--
It's amazing that these talented people have been thrown under the bus in favor of cheap real estate shows (in the US--I was working in Canada this summer, and that's not the case on Canadian HGTV).
But something I found terribly sad, recently--
I go to a very progressive breast clinic, designed by some wonderful doctors, with possibly the loveliest waiting room in the world--water fountains, herbal teas, masseuses--everything you could imagine to relieve women facing breast cancer, under enormous stress.
In the waiting room, where I have waited for the past 15 years, it was HGTV--crafting, garden, design shows--on the flat-screens. They were comforting and creative, and for a moment, got us scared women out of ourselves.
Last week, I went for my mammogram. On the flat screen TVs, there were some photo collages of patient art. A nurse practitioner friend said that HGTV's materialistic, competitive real estate stuff no longer had relevance. It was too stressful for patients.
As a theatre professional/performer, I so appreciate designers, and the beauty they bring to the world...It also used to bring comfort.
HGTV has deemed that no longer relevant--
The High/Low project is wonderful! I wish that it was on more often. Sarah 101 is great too. I wonder why HGTV runs all the real estate related shows when there are so many complaints?
