I wish you would rerun Decorating Cents with Joan Steffen. She had the best show, great designers and did it all with $500 or less. It was a very fun show to watch. Please consider rerunning it, even if in the wee hours.

That was a good show. I like Divine Design and the old Color Splash. Also what happend to Spice Up My Kitchen, Curb Appeal? I rarely watch the newer shows. They are a bit much and I'm so sick of House Hunters I could vomit.

SUMK reruns air on Monday mornings at 7:00 and 7:30 Central. That's about the only thing I watch on a regular basis anymore. The majority of the programming is SO bad that I no longer remember to check the channel guide to see what will be on. Consequently I'm missing the few new shows that I even half-way enjoy. I wish they'd bring back Colour Confidential and Sensible Chic. And please don't refer me to Sabrina Soto's lame knockoff of SC. Her show stinks.

Oh I had forgotten about Colour Confidential, I liked that show. I don't like that show Hi-Low with Sabrina Soto. I'm so tired of these new shows. I used to watch HGTV all day, I rarely watch it now. I really miss Design Star, I used to watch the reruns on DIY network. I used to like the competition they would have between all of the different designers in the summer, doing someone's kitchen or backyard... That was enjoyable. Now all that have is House Hunters and Holmes on Homes. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Angye H,

What happened to Myles of Style? I also liked the one show, I think it was called My parent's house. They would redo and older home of the kid's parents. The old Curb Appeal. I liked that one too. And Designed to Sell

Yay! Another one! I sometimes get the feeling I'm the only person here who liked Myles of Style and My Parents' House. I loved My Parents' House and miss it so much! ------------------------------------------------ I've been around...well, all right, I might not have been around, but I've been....nearby. -from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show"

I loved My Parents House. Those guys worked so well together. It was a fun show to watch. I also liked Designers Challenge

You are going to get in trouble with thsi one!

I have to say that I always thought My Parents House was fake. If these people were so willing to have their space updated it seems to me they'd have done it already instead of leaving the lace doilies and foo-foo from the 70's laying around. There have been a couple of older people I know whose homes desperately needed to be brought into this century but they'd NEVER in a million years have agreed to it. As for Myles of Style - loved Kim - but from what I understand she was only given a trash budget and coerced into allowing the HO's to do those dreadful "art projects" (gag, choke) so to me, the results were less than wonderful for hte most part. Past shows I loved and miss: Designer's Challenge, Decorating Cents, Designing for the Sexes (first version - sorry Rick), and a few of the others. Give us intelligent design with credible design professionals and SHOW us something we'd be happy to have in our own homes.

I don't like that show either
|
Loved Designer's Challenge and Decorating Cents. Why can't they rerun all or some of those shows instead of the steady stream of House Hunters in the evening?
|
Love those shows, too. But for evenings and weekends we are going to continue to get a steady steam of HGTV's number one show - House Hunters. Maybe it's number one because that's all that's on. At any rate they are all excited about their upcoming line up with more reality type shows, celebrity rich and famous shows, and product promotion. This is what they think America is all about now. In this hard economic time they think we are all still super interested in million dollar homes, expensive remodels and pampered pets. No one could possibly be interested in getting ideas for sprucing up or re-decorating the home they have or are renting on a super tight budget, or learn how to maximize the use of a small backyard (think victory garden) or how to craft and recycle items around the home into something new. No...all we want is mindless TV viewing that encourages us to waste large amounts of money. I've lost all hope for this network...
|
sadly I think you may be right. I'm sick of reality TV. And I'm sick of the million dollar stuff. I want to see how to pretty up my world. I don't watch HGTV as much as I used to. I just don't like the direction they have taken.

I really cannot even remember the last time I put on HGTV. It is so sad.... I use to have this channel on all the time, now if I remember, I just DVR Carter on Tuesday mornings to get my fix of the old HGTV. All this new programing just doesn't do it for me - And....what happened to Chelsea's Design on a Dime on Sat nights? That is gone too. They had Decorating Cents on Monday mornings at 6:30 for two weeks and then took it off - what a tease. I know we have said this 100x - but does anybody listen anymore. This reality crap is just awful.
