What happened to this show? It is a terrific show, did they cancel it? If so, there are some others that I think should have gone instead of this one?

tandey, the previous thread on this answers that question. Yes it was terrific, yet sadly, it was canceled. I think HGTV assumes they no longer have sophisticated viewers......since they no longer have sophisticated design shows, therefore, probably thought they didn't need it anymore. JMO Big Grin

I am so upset that this show is gone. I would record them on DVR even though I've seen them a million times. I would always turn on Joe Ruggiero when I wanted to relax and have a glass of wine. This is just awful. I hope it comes back. I only have three episodes left on my DVR that I refuse to delete. By the way "havinfunatwork", how do I get a little picture of something like your cute lil duckie?

heavy sigh.... that was the only show i ever really liked on HGTV...

I'm sick of home owners with power tools, i just want to see the finished product with smooth easy camera work and nice music. Kind of like a favorite magazine with big beautiful pictures.

< my cable airs homes across America.
it's laughable because the prices are terribly outdated.... in reality many folk facing repo.
Consumer Reports latest analysis is best investment to focus on deferred maintenance. never base improvements on fads, unless you plan to stay & enjoy your investment/
think about it! how soon will your new $50K kitchen or bath be pasee?

What a lovely description - it really was rather like that, wasn't it!

I don't believe Home Across America even gives prices, so they can't be outdated.

If that's the show you were talking about.

I did love the show although I'd seen every episode at least twice.

True Smile I love going thru the home magazines and just studying the beautiful pictures. I kept mentioning that to a HouseBeautiful mag survey and viola' i see lots of 'big beautiful pictures' in there now.

I CANT AGREE MORE WITH HOW DISSAPOINTING IT IS THAT HOMES ACROSS AMERICA HAS BEEN CANCLED. I DONT SEE HOW THEY WOULD THINK THAT CLASSIC BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED HOMES WOULD EVER GO OUT OF STYLE. THESE HOMES WILL BE AROUND LONGER THAN MOST OF US WILL. CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF YOU CAN PURCHASE THE SHOWS ON DVD. I KNOW I HAVENT HAD THE CHANCE TO SEE THEM ALL. THIS WAS MY FAVORITE SHOW ON HGTV. I USE TO JUST LEAVE HGTV ON WHEN I WAS DONING THINGS AROUND THE HOUSE BUT NO MORE I WONT GIVE THE AIR TIME TO ALL THE OTHER SHOWS THAT ARE NOT NEARLY AS GOOD.

Homes across America was my favorite show until Joe Ruggiero left the show. He was a natural, the replacement sounded like she was reading cue cards.I stopped watching.
