... or at least that's what the ad I just saw said.

Um- HGTV may love summer drama, but this HGTV fan merely tolerates the drama.... and sometimes I don't.

Sometimes the drama is so annoying I watch another network.

Anyone else feel this way?

Oh, do I ever! Especially the drama you KNOW is fake. I keep thinking back to the little "oopsies" especially on Candice's second show. While design professionals are certainly not perfect and things DO go wrong, I seriously doubt a designer of Candice's status would really make some of the boneheaded boo-boos we saw on that show where the drama was all about "how on earth will it get fixed??"

TQ, I don't care for the "drama" nor do I like the "entertainment" on HGTV.

I saw that ad about summer drama and I thought...what are they thinking now?

For me, DRAMA = a Helen Mirren/Meryl Streep/Tom Wilkerson/Judy Dench/ flick. Good characterization, absorbing plot, minimal predictability. HGTV does not = DRAMA.

Lol! I had to log in to comment & I am glad to see others feel me. I haven't see the HGTV loves summer drama version, but the whole HGTV loves summer campaign is just ridic. There was one trying to hype up the "sexy men of HGTV" like its marketing to teenage girls. Then another where David B is saying "this is when clothes come off, this is when it's sexy..." but he is wearing a sweater with a long sleeve button-down shirt underneath. Lol what? Just.... Such a bizarre campaign...

Agreed. It's almost insulting that HGTV thinks that speaking of the "sexy men of HGTV" and having David B talk about taking clothes off will actually appeal to adult women.

Maybe it's not the men to whom they are trying to appeal???

Perhaps but I first saw the commercial while visiting my brother and we both laughed at its ridiculousness. So I don't know...I'm inclined to think the campaign is a swing and a miss regardless of who they had in mind when they made it. (and again, if David B is talking about summer heat and he's supposed to be "being sexy" why is he wearing a long sleeve sweater & button down shirt?? LOL!)

If he were only wearing Speedos, David B talking about "being sexy" still wouldn't get my attention. Mike Holmes or Scott McG talking about mold or drywall would, however.

Smile Damon Bennett or either one of the Kitchen Cousins for me.

Dirty old woman & not ashamed to admit it.
