Did anyone even watch Summer Showdown last night? Any opinions? Constance was a bit of a pill.

Constance is a sweetie playing the contestant role nice shoes. That's the name of the showdown game, spice up the competition.

I don't think this show is suppose to be a learning experience at all. I think it is a self advertisement for HGTV employees. They really don't show much except the high jinx and a room at the end. It really wasn't very funny and started to reach the point of annoying. I am not impressed with the show.

David is typically my favorite, but I did not think this room was his best. However, the client did seem to like it and that is what it's all about, isn't it? As far as high jinx and drama on this show, I totally agree. The show has become painful to watch, IMO. HGTV has strayed so far from what made it great in the early days. I think its new name should be RHGTV as in Reality HGTV! UGH!!

I agree with all the posters who said they were tired of the horsing around and screwed up faces in the camera. I'm seeing this on more than one show and as soon as I do, I switch channels. I do not tune into HGTV when I want to see comedy. HGTV needs to make up its mind exactly what kind of network it really is: assinine, third-rate corny or high-class design shows that we can learn from.

I did not like this show and Constance got on my nerves from the beginning. I do believe her room was the prettiest if I were choosing it for me but I think David succeeded in putting his touch on the room like he always does. He was professional and classy. I appreciated that he didn't get involved with the antics. All the shows are getting more and more ridiculous and I hardly ever turn on the TV anymore. I used to keep it on all day. Not anymore.

To be honest, I didn't LOVE either room. They both had elements I liked, but I wouldn't want either room.
As for this show...it stinks. As someone said ...'just one big comercial' for HGTV. The "rooms" are not even rooms, but TV sets. No real walls or windows, and 'shopping' in the wearhouse that HGTV provides limits everyone on the show, no matter who they are. I agree with all who posted that HGTV has gone so far downhill as of late. I know they are trying to get a very young audience...but us 'older' folks are the ones who 'made' HGTV, and who have the bucks. I find myself watching more DIY, and Fine living than HGTV. Even if 'FL' is owned by the same company as HGTV. Bring back the days of REAL design & designers, being able to learn from a show, and stop the 'cute' stuff! It is just annoying! |

The showdown between Constance & David was ridiculous! Does she have ADD? I'm serious, I have never seen anyone so unfocused and flighty. And, last night's show with Steve & Sabrina was awful. I doubt I will watch it again.

All these shows have drama built in. Last night it was conflict between Steve and Sabrina. I really wonder if there was real conflict or was that just part of the script. Last week it was Constance messing with David. The week before it was someone taking something that the other team claimed. It's all staged. It's not real!
I think if it really bothers you, then you are doing the right thing by not watching. I would suggest trying to find another show that fits your taste. There are a lot to choose from. |

I stopped with David and Constance. The question is, does HGTV feel that these ridiculous 'WWF of Design' formats are necessary to support ratings?
I don't watch this channel for this type of programming; I watch this channel to get away from this type of programming. Te original programming was so much better. In my opinion. |

I like the show, advertisement or not. I thought Constance's room was much better than David's. I couldn't imagine trying to sleep in a room with that much and type of yellow. Constance's room was more relaxing.

Is this really what HGTV thinks viewers want to see? i'd think they would get the hint by now with all the negative responses that are posted on these boards over the staged antics and contrived home hunter shows.

I liked Constance on Extreme Makeover Home Addition, but on Summer Showdown, she acted really silly and unprofessional, and I felt sorry for David Bromstad, because he was like 'Grow up'! I think Constance did more harm to her own image than anything she could have designed. It's a good thing she had her carpenter there to pick up the slack while she was busy playing...

oooh...that show was so painful to watch. I'm wondering if Constance was given a "role" to play, surely she is more serious about design and finishing tasks than the show portrayed. I have been disappointed in all the episodes, sometimes I leave it on just to have something on, nothing else on TV I want to watch anyway.
Bring back creative ideas, explanations of why colors, designs, etc work, and some general information for me! |

I thought Constance acted like a bimbo. Come on, high heels to paint, stage, etc. I think everyone was getting really sick of here antics, especially here carpenter.....I can't remember his name.
I thought David's room was the best. |

Constance acted like a bimbo because she IS a bimbo, in my opinion. Do you watch her other show??? Hello! Designer she is NOT. As for her statement that "I wear these shoes because the designer is supposed to be cute" nothing could be farther from the truth. I want a designer who knows how to design even if she looks like Phyllis Diller. Cute, huh??
|

|
No I don't watch her show. The one and only time I watched I was very disappointed. She has no clue of what good design is. |

What a fruitcake she is. Watched the show but had a hard time because she acted like she was 14. Won't watch again or any of her shows. Had enough

Yeah, but her delivery is flawless, isn't it?

The light dawns! HGTV stuck Constance on so that husbands won't gripe about having to watch another decorating show! Reminds me of a couple of carpenter shows they had on a couple years ago where the token female on the crew always had major spillover and looked like she'd escaped from a naughty magazine with her tool belt barely covering the short shorts. Who would have thought that HGTV was so concerned about promoting togetherness in viewing. |
