Yes, we had high hopes for this show since Sensible Chic was a favorite. The biggest difference, from what I can see is that Sabrina does both the low AND the high portions. Several have said that she appears to be working back to front to assure she can come up with a reasonable low cost version of the high end look. I'd rather see her copy a magazine picture or something done by a top designer; to me that would be more "real". Although she does seem to come up with many things that are good - and I do like the show - I'm thrown off by her inability to come up with a decent facsimile for the rugs she uses, and some of the items just look cheap and ordinary. Also, the last episode I watched I was surprised they spent so much time showing how to do the dog bed - seriously? How many viewers were just dying to find out how to do a new bed for Fido or Fluffy?
HGTV had a show called "Double Take" wherein the host and helpers would reproduce a room from a magazine picture. It was one of my favorites.
I've thought about the fact that Sabrina may work backwards, but nonetheless, I love this show. She is one of my favorite designers, along with Taniya (sp.) and Candice. On an episode about two weeks ago, Sabrina couldn't find a rug to match the high end so she made it out of carpet tiles. IMO, it was simply beautiful. I think she's very talented.

I have to agree about the dogs place "interesting" but it was well built and was part of the original hi end room, again to each their own LOL

I do like "Hi-Lo", and I think Sabrina is very inventive, creative and hard-working. Chris is a real asset to the show. While I think some solutions are a little much, this is one of the few shows of this type left on HGTV--dedicated to beauty, ingenuity, client-oriented design, repurposing, and sustainability. So I hope it's renewed again. (I, too, loved "Sensible Chic" and "Double Take". But I do really like seeing the fourth wall on "Hi-Lo", instead of just three walls...did anybody else here who watched those shows wonder if all the hideous old stuff was just piled in a heap next to the camera crew???)

I am not a big fan of this show. When it first started it was basically a half hour commercial for Target.I guess someone complained because it rarely has Target items showcased anymore even though Sabrina is still a spokesperson for them.I never, ever like her designs though. Her taste is very boring and she uses neutrals too much.
