The ads for it make it look interesting. I'm going to record it.

I agree, it does look very interesting! Hoping this fulfills the promise and isn't a disappointment....will be good to see what y'all think about it after the first episode.

I'll wait to see what you all have to say too. If you like it, I'll give it a try. I'm reallhy gun shy for HGTV these days.

Others might like it, but to me, it just seemed like "What's With That House" without George Gray's wit and personality. I erased it mid-way, and won't be recording it again.

I'm an HGTV junkie and I wasn't impressed.

Actually I liked this show - it was interesting what can be done with a smaller budget. Some of the things they showed were pretty inventive. We'll see as the weeks go by if they continue to interest anyone. I liked that they told how much things were and how to actually do it even if I wouldn't have maybe wanted a house built out of billboards.

Nice to see a new show added but was not that impressed with the first one. I will have to watch it again to see if it gets better. I do admit that some people have clever ideas when it comes to buildings.

I liked the show very much. I wish they had shown fewer houses and gone into greater detail about each one.

Some of the ideas might have been "clever" but at least on that first house (after which I erased the rest of the show), I saw no benefit to using billboards to build a house, not for most of us. Who around here has access to billboards? And the see-through bathroom? I don't think so. And frankly, much of the house was ugly as sin.

It appears I'm going to have to watch Canadian shows on other channels if I want something resembling style...sigh.

I wasn't impressed at all with this show. I will give it one more try I suppose. I like Small Space Big Style so much better.

LOVED THIS SHOW!! Very contemporary, fun ideas "Beyond the Box!" I'm hooked. Thank you HGTV for doing something different, this show suits the Dwell crowd for sure.

BTB is refreshing, keep it up! Greater detail would be good I agree. LOVED the camera work too.

In a time of "recession" it's great to see some interesting ideas that I can use in my home that won't cost me an arm and a leg ya know. Things looked really polished.

The host is cute too...would like to see more interviews with him and less "voice over." Better than the "What's with that house" guy, he kinda freaks me out to tell you the truth. BTB seems more real I think, more comtemporay and approachable. Looking forward to more...

I think it is always worth watching a couple episodes b/4 deciding. I hesitate to mention 'the stagers' but I hated the 1st episode and look forward to it now.

IMHO I liked this guy but I love George Grey on What's with this house. George is so funny and makes hosting a dream - this other guy is good but he is just a host

So far this show is pretty interesting, something different than the rest of HGTV's current line up. Good variety, interesting adaptive reuse of materials, very "Green!" It's got it all.

Why not I ask? Where else can I find cool ideas. ICWhatUDo... I think it's about being thrifty really, easy enough to find old billboards, look at the bottom of most billboards and you'll see who's putting them up there, contact them. CBS outdoor, Gannett, etc.

It's cool to recycle. And serious bargins can be found for sure. No fear ya know, yeah it might not be available at the local hardware store, but that's what makes it interesting.
Who wants to have everything their friends have ya know. We inspire each other.

It's fun to think of new ideas that no one has thought of before. Heck, I think that's what HGTV is all about! I love hearing about where people get their inspiration. And I do like to save money! Great show!

I could "build" a house of cardboard boxes and keep my stuff in a grocery cart, too. Doesn't make it stylish, attractive, or even desirable. Ask anyone living under the overpass who has to live that way. Most would live in a real house if they could.

Nor are such "houses" very practical if the weather turns sour. The plastic and billboard house would probably last, oh, I'd say a few minutes in the kind of weather we get in the springtime here in tornado alley, or in hurricane or nor'easter country for that matter.

I think what HGTV is looking for is strange, weird, and faddish--otherwise they'd be looking at truly practical and attractive alternatives.

Sorry, I'm just not into junk houses.

A few years ago I was going to build a strawbale house south of Tucson Az. The number of people who thought I was nuts blew my mind. For many reasons (not anything to do w/ the practicallity of strawbale construction) I ended up selling the land and staying in a more conventional dwelling.....but, I love seeing what people can do that is out of the norm. Some of it may not be to my particular taste, but I wouldn't call it junk. They obviously had to have inspectors, etc go thru so it may be just a bit more practical than you would think at first glance.

What fun! I really enjoyed this show last night. The name of the show really describes what you will find. Great ideas those curtain walls. The show seemed really approachable, like I could actually do some of this stuff. Thanks HGTV!

Actually, strawbales are not junk. Neither is adobe, and here in tornado alley, building into a hillside is pure genius. But I do draw the line at cheap plastic and billboards.

By the way, have you ever been IN a strawbale or adobe house? You get the most peaceful feeling, and for saving on both heating and cooling costs, these houses are the very best. Next time you get the chance to try one, I hope you do.
