This show is annoying. The premise is OK. Renovate you home or move to a new house that has everything you want. The problem is that every episode follows the exact same pattern. The designer gets her budget, promises the world without consulting a structural engineer or a home inspector, can't do everything she promises, owners get angry with her but she gives them a scaled down version which is beautiful. The real estate agent shows them the first house which is totally unacceptable, the second house is just what they want but over their budget, the owners get angry with him but he "suddenly" finds the third house which is perfect for them. The owners too are annoying. One is nasty with the designer while the other is nasty with the real estate agent. Then they all love each other in the end. To make matters worse...it's an hour show! What a waste. Give me two episodes of Sarah's House instead.

Its called show buisness, I personally enjoy this show, the end results are fantastic, and whether they sell or stay, the home looks wonderful,

I don't get annoyed at people doing their jobs , but the homeowners sometimes expect way too much for the usually small budget they give to work with,

nothing is perfect, and we don't live in the dream clouds,of course some are deluded into unreasonable fantases LOL

I don't have a problem with the results or the people, it's the FORMULA that is repeated on every single show that's annoying. Don't the producers have any imagination?

You hit the nail on the head! Especially in your last two paragraphs. The homeowners have an unrealistic expectation on how much it takes to do a remodel, let alone on real estate. They want the moon but don't have the money to achieve it! They want perfection and the real world is anything but perfect!

This show is scripted. The homeowners don't have an 'unrealistic expectation" of what they can get on their budget because the show's producers tell them what is going to happen from start to finish. They know that Hilary is going to find problems (play along) and that David is going to show them some houses that they clearly don't want(or one they have already bought)

The show uses the same format week to week for a reason.
