Like the flowers and the young men, all my favorites are gone: David Bromstad, Scott McGilvary, Sabrina Soto, Sara Richardson, Genevieve Gorder, Vern Yip, Candice, Olson, even all the folks on Design on a Dime. No garden makeovers, no redoing any rooms--all I get to watch is construction or someone else buying/renting somewhere to live. IT'S BORING!!! You've even trashed all the shows of the winners of Design Star. What's going on? If it didn't cost so much to upgrade, I'd switch to DIY. Instead, I just turn off the TV! You are losing me, HGTV. Please change your ways -- there's nothing else worth watching the majority of the time!!!

I totally agree. HGTV is losing me. So sick of the Property Brothers.

I now have Canadian programming, and now get HGTV shows on several stations, it is nice I have a couple house shows to pick from.
Just saw Candice yesterday.
I don't like DIY, too much hokey stuff. I like the luxury shows, one can always adjust quality rooms to fit a budget, but some of the DIY is just cheap, not much I want to copy.

I have to agree with tapdancer65. All the good shows are gone. There are not many shows on HGTV since they love to repeat the same few shows over and over until you have seen an episode about 10 times. It is getting boring. I am not buying or selling a house. I enjoy the same shows tapdancer 65 does.

I have to agree! All the show that I loved when I first started watching HGTV are gone. Now seems the channel should be called Real Estate TV. Everytime I turn to the channel there is a Real Estate show on. I use to watch HGTV every chance I could--now I turn to the channel--then turn to something else. I love to see more afforable decorating/gardening ideas--especially in today's economy.

...and if HGTV does air a great interior design show they run it at an obscure time. Like Sarah 101 - the new episodes air at 8:30am on Mondays. Then you get a couple other reruns of interior design shows up until 11am when it's all real estate for the rest of the day up to 4am the next day. They don't get back to design until Tuesday at 6:30am which is a rerun of Colour Confidential and then between that time and noon there is real estate with interior design but once noon hits it's all real estate for the rest of the day and into Wednesday morning where the same scenario plays out over and over again throughout the week. I just don't understand why they put Sarah's new episodes on Mondays at 8:30am when most people are at work. Whoever does their programming is an idiot.

Unlike most here, I like the HH and HHI shows. However, I don't care for the Property Bros. and Love It/List It shows that are on constantly. But the worst for me is the Million Dollar Rooms show. I am as big a snoop as anyone but in channel surfing recently I caught part of one of these episodes and was completely turned off. This segment portrayed one of the most hideous, vulgar suites I have ever seen, with the presenter noting that the floors cost over $100K, etc. I guess that money doesn't buy taste. But I thought about all of the good that that money could have done for the world -- and that the owners could have had a much more beautiful room and spent only a tenth (?) of what they actually spent.

sadly,HGTV is lost its appeal for us too,there are just a few shows we watch and have quit the endless repeats very quickly

as far as the past shows they are not coming back and we don't have to watch what we do NOT like,

LOL sometimes my remote even changes the channel by its self,

we have been taping LMN shows and truly enjoying a lot of the suspense shows,
we have let a lot go and moved on to other stations sadly

The programming is ridiculous. I am home due to dental surgery, no DVR so I do not search programs, and noticed a brand new White Room Challenge airing in two minutes, 12:00 noon CST. Didn't this show on Friday nights?

And Novogratz/Sabrina Soto High Low now air in the afternoon (Saturday) CST, 4:30 p.m. and 5:00, while re-runs of Love It or List It/HH take up the entire evening. I've seen new episodes of Genevieve at odd times as well.

I agree too! All the good shows are gone. They just show the same ones over and over--Property Brothers, Buying and Selling, and Love It or List It. I was never a fan of Holmes on Holmes but would take any day over the three above.

As stated on another message board, I have loved watching HGTV since it's inception and I have to agree that a lot of the "good" shows are not there anymore. Unlike some here, I do like Property Brothers, House Hunters, House Hunters International and Property Virgins but not continuously. Also, those shows have gone from showing the things normal everyday peoploe can afford to showing homes that are from $300,00 to Millions of dollars that most of us watching will never be able to afford.

When HGTV first started, I liked the Room makeover shows, the backyard makeover shows, the Curb Appeal type shows but they have all disappeared. Not sure if the economy has hit you all and just don't have the backers to finance those types of shows anymore or what the deal is but those shows are greatly missed. There is a show which I believe is on another network that shows the hosts picking a families rundown home and they go in and do some redesigning and yard makeover type of stuff and it is really cool to see someone's life to be changed and have a positive affect on people.

We need more gardening tips, more room makeovers (can't remember the name of the show that I liked in the beginning, 2 designers 1 male, one female, waited for a person to leave and then do the makeover while that person is gone, curb appeal type shows, and backyard makeover shows.

Showing over priced homes and the same shows over and over just depresses people and we can only watch for so long. I'm 51 years old and still find it hard that a couple in their mid-20's can afford a home that is $500,000 or more unless they were born into a rich family or got lucky in starting a business of their own. Think about what your shows are saying to your viewers. Are they positive and building them up or are they making them feel worse about their position in life than they did prior to watching your shows. You had the right idea in the beginning, it's time to, pardon the pun, get back to your ROOTS HGTV!!!!

If they don't have the budget to have new shows on--about home decorating, and gardening, why don't they show some of the older shows that we all liked? Don't they have them recorded? it wouldn't cost them an arm and a leg. That'd be better than what we have now. I've even quit turning to the station because I know House Hunters will be on, and I can't stand to watch. Please, HGTV show some of the older programs that you used to have.

Actually, I don't even bother with HGTV anymore. My DVR is set for Rate My Space Friday mornings. My DVR was set for Decorating Cents which they had on Thursday morning at 6:30 for about three weeks with the new host (not Joan) and then that ended. Other than that - again, I don't even turn it on - the shame is it use to be on 24/7. And....remember when all the Fall and Xmas decorating shows were on - OMG those were so nice and really got you in the mood. Now forget it. We won't be seeing those anytime soon.
