I watched this show tonight on the Food Channel. They worked on a fishing lodge in Alaska. I really liked it and was pleased to see Casey Noble as the designer. She has really been busy. Her new season of Design on a Dime starts on Tues. Jan. 15 at 11:00 and 11:30 AM.

I too enjoy Hotel Impossible. However, if you're looking for it the show airs on Travel Channel. Robert Irvine's Restaurant Impossible airs on Food. Another HGTV Alumni is on Hotel Impossible, one of his other designers is Blanch Garcia from Design Star. Not a fan of Design Star I found that our on her webpage for another post.

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.

My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Sparky, My bad...I was watching the Travel Channel. I must have had a senior moment. Glad you caught my mistake and corrected it. Thank you.

I plan to watch for Restaurant Impossible. I have never seen this show.

riley,

Robert Irvine can be a bit of a jerk. He's very demanding and most of the restaurant owners are CLUELESS. He's done some amazing things and saved more than one failing restaurant. Not everyone was a success, but I think all would have failed without his help.

In watching the show I'm amazed at the number of people that go into the restaurant business with no prior experience. "I love to cook, so I thought... why not!"

It is pretty sad when you have to go to Food Network and Travel Channel to see building and design work versus HGTV. If Food still had a forum people would probably be complaining there about the lack of cooking shows. They had to start cooking channel to run their shows where people actually offer instructions about cooking. Food is pretty much competition shows (Chopped, Iron Chef, Sweet Genius, etc) or travel show (Eat Street, Diners, Drive In and Dives, etc)

If you've ever watched her show the picture is pretty accurate to what she wears on the show. Not that I'm complaining.

There are some great recipes on that show. I remember a sauteed chicken breast, and a cranberry sauced roasted turkey breast and a cherry glazed duck breast. My favorite though was the stuffed breast of veal.

Chuck,
There seems to be a theme there.

I watched this show last night. I like it. It was filmed in Wisconsin. That was a nice change from HGTV, although I believe (if I remember correstly) that the show "Most Embarassing Living Room" which aired on Friday was also filmed in Wisconsin. Meg was the designer on that episode.

Is anyone else watching Hotel Impossible on the Travel Channel? I haven't seen Reataurant Impossible yet, but I plan to check it out.

I watched last night after I fast forwarded through most of the annoying parts of LIOLI on HGTV. This one's issues mainly centered around bad management decisions and no marketing plan. For the most part the staff did a decent job keeping the place ready for customers, the rooms were clean and well decorated. Blanch spent her entire time working on the hospitality room. Anthony had to do some major education of the management staff and the owner.
