Anyone watching? Isn't it strange to be renovating AND house hunting at the same time?

I was thinking the same thing when I read the synopsis. After watching the first half of it, the only thing I wonder is: are these people REALLY that difficult? Watching it is working my nerves.

I forgot to check the credits to see if it's a Canadian production. You don't usually see such snippiness from Canadians. I wonder what would have happened if the whole budget had been allocated to the upper level and the water and heating system problems only came to light when they put the house up for sale--after all their money was spent! Still, I was surprised that the HO decided to go for a row house over their budget over their own house.

I watched but can't say I was very impressed. I will watch it next week to see if I like it better. Seems strange to renovate your home while you are looking at new ones.

Yep it's from Canada. I watched wehn it was on OWN. I recorded it and would zip thru all the crap at the beginning where they repeat what the HOs want in their house over and over again. Some of HOs aren't as snippy but for the most part they are pretty much like the shoppers in HH with all their demands.

Perhaps the concept of this show was good but, the hosts are inept.
The Realtor shows the property owners properties that don't meet their needs, budget or tastes. The designer doesn't understand construction. She offers up design ideas with no clue to feasibility and rarely fulfills their wishes.

I thought the same thing. It's totally unrealistic for their house to be remodeled, and at the same time look for a new house. What are the chances the house that they pick to buy will still be available when their house sells? Probably not very good. What's the point of getting all excited about leaving your old home for a particular new home when that home probably won't be on the market when you are able to buy it? And the show never addresses this question. Other than that, I like the show.
