Can anyone tell me whats up with HGTV? I think maybe they should rename themselves the Real Estate Channel, or RETV, or BHTV (buy homes TV). What happened to the interior design shows? What happened to Candice, David, Emily, Sarah, and all of the wonderfully talented designers that made us all start watching this channel many years ago?? Now all we see is HH, HHI, Love it or list it? Please, all they do is argue and blame. Property brothers? They are ok in small doses, but again, an hour full of arguing and making excuses why they have to go over budget. Not my idea of real solid design advice and inspiration. I'm about to sign off of HGTV for good. HELP!!
We've all been complaining about this for years but to no avail. HGTV has their own idea of what they want to do and nothing we say has any effect on that. Real Estate shows are cheap to produce therefore we see lots of those. Amen.
BTW have you notice that A&E has very little Arts and precious little Entertainment. The Learning Channel doesn't teach anything and so on and so on. None of them have stuck to the format that got them famous in the first place.
Unfortunately like most everything in life, its always about the bottom line. Thanks for the info. Wish there was a way to get the message to someone on top....if they would care...
I agree with all of you. Where are the people at the top? If they aren't interested in what people are saying on their message boards, then they might as well sign off of the air. The designing shows have very talented people with great ideas, but when it comes time for renewal, they disappear. Maybe they should let their $s flow, they certainly have enough commercials.

It breaks my heart to see how this channel has turned out...now I usually only watch design star and have been so disappointed that they never show up again after a couple of episodes to introduce them after they win; I miss David and Candice too. (Vern and Genevieve not so much) GIVE US OUR DESIGN STARS and stop dragging us through all this home hunting and remodeling!!!!
