I'm watching an episode right now where an L.A couple is looking at a house in Eagle Rock. First they said it was 15 miles to the beach. Really?! That's news to me. I live next to Eagle Rock and the nearest beach is at least 27 miles away. Second, they said Eagle Rock was a hip area with great real estate investment potential. If living near gang areas (at least it was last time I checked), with a lot of rundown ghetto type neighborhoods is considered a good investment, then I don't think I want to be buying a house anytime soon. How truthful is the other stuff they tell us? This was really disappointing to see.

Well if Eagle Rock is spread out over a larger area, then maybe the section they are in is only 15 miles from the beach but if you lived on the other side of town maybe is 27 miles. I don't know about it being a hip area though. Smile

No, it's a very small town. The population is only about 35,000 people and you could drive across the Main Street in about 2 min. If you were to go to mapquest and put it in, you could see how far way it is from the nearest beach, which would probably Santa Monica.

I heard that also so I listened again and it sounded like the narrator said it was 15 miles further from the beach. HTH
