I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT SUNNY WAS CROWN. HER KITCHEN WAS NOT COMPLETE,SCOTT WAS FINISHED. IN THE SEMI FINAL THE TWO MEN DID NOT FINISH THEIR TV ROOM BUT HAD THE RIGHT HEIGHT ON THE STEP SUNNY AND SCOTT DID NOT. THE TWO MEN WERE LET GO BECAUSE THEY DID NOT FINISH WERE SUNNY AND SCOTT DID. SO WHAT DO YOU TAKE WITH ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL SUNNY SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CROWNED BECAUSE SHE DID NOT FINISH JUST LIKE THE TWO MEN THAT DID NOT FINISH.
You must know that neither of the kitchens were finished. The show does not really show everything because of time but there was a lot that was incomplete on both. The winner was not decided by the amount of completion but rather the way the team leader led his or her partner. Remember Mike said, This challenge is about how well you lead you team !!! period. So, Scott let mike go wrong on that tile and felt that he did not need to MICRO MANAGE!! If ever he needed to micro manage it was probably THAT DAY!! Sonne was able to work quit well with her helper and was able to make it look smoothas it could be in the time allowed. So...NO Scotts Kitchen was not finished!
I'm very happy that Sonne won. It's true that Sonne's kitchen was not finished, but the other guy (sorry can't remember his name) didn't finish his either. I think that what won it for Sonne was her planning, attention to detail, and ability to lead her helper properly. The other guy didn't square or level his cabinets. Sonne did. His backsplash was a mess and even when he saw his helper messing it up he didn't give him any direction, just let him keep doing it wrong. Sonne also thought outside of the box and created an island for the dishwasher, making sure that the door could be opened at the same time as the freezer without hitting each other. I look forward to seeing what kind of deal Sonne gets with HGTV. She is extremely likable and does well in front of the camera. I would definitely watch her.

I am looking forward to her show as well! We all will be watching a rooting her on!!
Do you know what was promised? We've heard about this supposed "HGTV Development Deal" for years but have yet to see anyone from AAH on another HGTV or DIY program. Understand someone may have appeared once on Mike's program.

Thanks, Rodney
Well, winning the show is one thing......HAVING A SHOW.... is a WHOLE different thing! Who do you think would be the most interesting and entertaining person to watch on a show or as a host?

For the last 12 years I have been experiencing the art of building and constructing some very nice things throughout the country from Texas to New York. It is amazing how one a situation that was meant to be something fun can turn on you. I had a conversation this past week with 2 people and I feel that this is a good idea of what America got from my show run on All American Handyman.
They said these words to me in short. You are very creative but and I would have you design everything and have somebody else build it"
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was like a knife in the side!!!! For years I have prides myself in the construction of things that people live in like room additions, sit on like chairs and benches and walk on like decks along with many other things and one set of shows can throw all of that in the trash as though you don't know anything. It is sad but true that apparently as you have said, I looked like I was a mess!!!! So sad. I would only hope that this opinion does not rest in the mind of the masses. I will not give any opinions on the footage of the show because it was what I considered fun while I was doing it but it has seemingly set me up to be disrespected in the minds of many as having NO construction ability AT ALL.
Nothing I have ever built has ever fallen apart or broken and I have a good reputation to this fact but that is not what American saw. All I can say is UNFORTUNATE FOR ME!! Thanks!!
You dont have to show such type of anger and disappointment..As it happens in case of most of the shows that the strong contender is not crowned some time...so just chill
Thanks so much for your message. I must say when all of this first happened, I was a little offended about some of the things the judges had said on national TV about my skills because I though it would effect my business. I have since realized that HGTV has helped me for sure in the category of exposer and notoriety. I am so grateful to have been a part of the show because just being on the show was the key to helping my business grow. I do things now that I could not have done without that opportunity and for that I say"Thanks HGTV!!!! :-) You are very correct in your statement because I is not all about winning sometimes but it is about being in the race that really matter. I never want to come across angry because I am not. I had a blast on the show. Also. I am working on my own show that will begin to air in the Dallas market soon but I am currently doing HOWTO demos for ACE Hardware. If you ever find time, please check out some of the things I have been working on lately across the country at www.rodneyboyden.com.
