First I want to say overall I really like HGTV programming; but after seeing a Ultimate Crasher program tonight I am pretty much done with viewing crasher shows moving forward. I can't believe the lack of safety during these demolitions considering most of the homeowners know nothing about construction and are depending on the contractors for guidance; not to mention the people who watch and may think it's ok to throw a hammer into a window or break a mirror with a hammer wearing no protection. Utterly irresponsible on the programs management. I've been in every phase of construction and buildout for 30 years and I can't believe Mike Holmes still does his show with you. When I saw Todd Davis standing on a kitchen cabinet to try and break cabinets! Sorry but that took the cake. Sorry to see you let this happen on a consistent basis. I also can't believe OSHA hasn't stepped in to stop this.
I'm always waiting for the homeowner to swing the sledgehammer and smack themselves too! It's a bit reckless...but, I have to say that Yard Crashers with Ahmed and House Crashers with Josh (who is freaking hysterical) Temple are my favorite shows. The ambushes in the home repair stores look genuine but I can't believe that more people don't recognize the HGTV stars.
One of my pet-peeves about most of these shows is the waste of perfectly fine cabinets, etc.that can be reused. I know it's not as dramatic to simply unscrew cabinets from the walls when a sledgehammer makes more dramatic TV, but I wish they would be a little more environmentally conscious.
There are only two classes - first class and no class

Sheetmoss, I totally agree with you on the cabinets! If they would put them out on the curb, they would pickup overnight, by someone who could use them. It's not very "green" of them to fill up the trash bin
It kills me when they sledgehammer kitchens and baths...... the cabinets and fixtures should be taken to a Habitat resale store, or a thrift shop. It's awful that all these shows just demolish everything.
These shows try to be humorous and show the homeowner swinging away but it's irresponsible and thoughtless to just destroy for the sake of destroying. Would you really want to get hit by flying debris? Once saw a show on a different network where the idiot homeowner almost hit a gas line--the show didn't last too long, guess the idiots finally blew themselves up!

I made a comment on this topic and was told that "it wasn't real and that the homeowners were not in danger" of the flying sledgehammer. I think some of these "contractors" are very dangerous. I personally don't find it entertaining when items that could be recycled are destroyed. Todd Davis is the worst! I refuse to watch his show anymore.
