I was lazy today. I straightened up the laundry room and run the dishwasher. I'm not doing any serious cleaning or decorating until after hunting season is over.

What is everyone else doing.

I don't post very often here but I do check in. I have been cleaning out my cluttered closets. I just sent 1 large and 1 smaller garbage bag stuffed full of clothes that I haven't worn or do no longer need with my daughter, so that she could take them to the Goodwill store near her. I have been decluttering all summer in the shed and garage and have hauled some to the landfill and metal to the salvage yards. Made $472 on the metal. I have accomplished quite a bit but still have more to do. I plan on doing my attic room upstairs after Christmas is over. I feel much better getting these things cleaned out.

Good Mornign all. I have been busy wrapping persents to mail to my family out west. Once those are gone (later today)I am planning to get back to organizing the basement. The floor and painting are all done, the furniture is back in place. I need to get the stuff back on the shelves so I can use the space I clear to put the chair and side table I have to move to put up the tree.

Carolyn, welcome - it is nice to see a new name here.

I work with a group of ladies that put together quilts for groups in need. Somehow I ended up with a lot of quilt tops(maybe 50) that are waiting for backing and batting. I have 4 put together and will be tied at our next session. All of this is in my dining room area and I've been trying to get it all organized and put in another room.
Bought a pegboard to hang in my sewing room about a week ago, still waiting for DH to hang it up. Maybe by the weekend!

I have another pile of stuff ready for the goodwill. My sewing room has stayed clean, but still have some things to go through.

Hall closet is clean, now need to get back to our bedroom closet.....what a disaster!!! But, I have removed quite a bit of stuff out of there.

Glad to see clutter cleaners still going. Smile

Hi everyone,

mira'smom...I'll bet you're glad the basement is
done. You'll have the tree up in no
time.

MountainLaural...Welcome to Clutter Cleaners!
You've been doing great. Does your
user's name mean that you're from Pa?

5bells...Welcome aboard. Good work. Can you post a
picture of the decorations?

wiley... 50 quilt tops?!?!?! The ONE quilt I'm
working on gets piled on the desk in the
den when I'm not working on it. I can't
imagine 50!

Mary J...Way to go! Remember one box/bin/shelf
at a time. You'll soon have it done.

I didn't have a good day. The pharmacy that I've used for at least 55 years is closing so everything was transferred to another pharmacy. It took them an hour and 15 minutes to refill my perscriptions. All but one. They said the insurance said it was too early to fill it but I can get it on Dec.1st. ONE DAY....I'm not a happy customer!
But I did get the bathroom cleaned this forenoon.
And this evening I'll relax with a quilt on my lap and a needle in my hand.

Keep up the work girls and post, post post.

Count your blessings, no matter how small they are.

Hanging my head in shame.....

Hello All! Do l didn't fall off the end of the earth. l'm still around but definitely need to get back here to Clutter Cleaners! lt's beed a long year with Subbing almost fulltime, computer and internet woes and busy with life.

But, l now have satellite internet. Wow! Soooooo much better than l had! l have a new computer. Got that as a birthday present for myself (today's my birthday!) and even got a new phone (old one was 7 years old!) Still Subbing but got to learn to live with that!

And right now my craft room is the worst in the house! lt's a good thing l don't know how to post pictures on this new computer, yet, or l might be tempted to post pics so you could see how bad it has gotten. Woe is me!

l'm happy to see that Clutter Cleaners is still going. l need the inspiration to get things cleaned up around here!

Happy Decluttering! Smile

Glad to know that I am not the only one with a messy craft room.lol.
I was trying to declutter the craft room by making christmas ornaments ect for a craft show. I am not able to take pictures of what I made, but hope to learn soon. I made up gift baskets with christmas mug and hot chocolate and cookies. Sewed christmas stockings, and make snow man christmas ornaments, and some other ornaments out of plastic canvas. I have red neck wine glasses left from another show I did.
I ended up not doing the show, I some how tore something in my knee and now having surgery on that knee.
Now I have christmas presents to give at work and for family.
There are so many great ideas on pinterest and u tube I know that I will get that room done soon.
I hope.
Have a Happy Decluttering Day.

HEY RAINBOW...
"Happy belated birthday!"
We wandered what happened to you.
Glad to see you back.

5bells...
Sorry to hear about your knee. When is your surgery scheduled?

Yesterday DGS#10 helped me get some decorations and wrapping paper out of the attic. I'm glad I only have room for a small tree. Smile

Now I'm gearing up for house guests next week.

5bells, welcome to you too. Rainbow it is so good to see you again. I was wondering where you were.

I have decluttered my dining room a little. Yesterday my sister and I took 5 boxes to the po to mail for Christmas. I have 2 more Cookie Receipe Albums left - one that I finished off yesterday and need to mail and one to make up for dd. My goal for today is just to clear the kitchen counters as they are getting bad.

Rainbow, welcome back.
I am retiring in January, and have started to get some things togeather for the church thrift store. I thought I would start one room at a time, starting with the craft room. There are so many projects with so little time, well I guess I will have the time now.

Thanks for the welcome ladies! I am trying to get my living room dusted (those spiders work over time this time of the year)and ready for the tree and my collection of snowmen. Right now all of the totes are in my sewing room and blocking my cupboards of fabric. So, I need to get them taken care of. It is on tomorrow's to do list.

Yes, I am from Northwestern Pennsylvania. Hence my name Mountainlaurel comes from our state flower.

Glad to read about others doing their clutter cleaning. Maybe it will keep me going.

Well, I mailed the other album and finished the one form my dd. After that I made her a fleece blanket from fleece I bought about 3 years ago to make her for Christmas. To do that I had to totally clear my kitchen island so I was able to do quick a bit of decluttering there. I found a few other unfinished projects while doing that so I will be working on those today along with doing laundry.

It is so nice to see some life in these posts again.!

Rainbow I am loving being retired. I get up and get my dd ready for school, then go to the gym every morning. I feel less stiff and have lost a couple of pounds - but I know that they are hiding waiting for the Christmas parties to come back.

I finished up one project yesterday. A set of beaded snowflakes that just needed to be stiffened. Now they are in a box to be given as a present. Now to finish several sets of cards from classes I took this past year that I never got around to finishing after class. I think that I will package up the best of them as a present as well.

5Bells, it's good to hear from you. l'm glad the surgery went well. Do what the doctor tells you first! The declutter will be there when you are properly healed up!

l'm feeling much better. Just the stay cough now and then.
Today, after school, l finished putting up the Christmas décor in the living room and vacuumed, cleaned off the dining room table, and cleaned off the island. So, l did get some cleaning in today.
Then l started trimming blocks and sewing on my DGD's now late birthday quilt. l'm calling that decluttering my mind b/c l won't rest until that one is finished.

mira'smom, glad you hear you are loving retirement. Way to go on the pounds lost, maybe they won't find you again! Finishing up UFO's is always good and giving them away serves double purposes.... a gift and decluttering! Way to go again!

Well, l'm off to iron some seams!

I started feeling better and spent a good part of the day decluttering the kitchen counters. It is amazing how much accumulates when I am not constantly nagging people to put stuff away. Then I went looking for some of the presents I put away and guess what?
I found 3 rotarty cutters - one was still in the packaging. Perhaps your missing one has found its way here Wiley!

Wiley, I think that is how I ended up with 3 of them.

5bells, have you found your hidden presents? I am still looking for some of mine. I know I bought dd nail polish for her stocking but I can not find it anywhere.

My craft projects are scattered between the dining room, basement and guest rooms. I know that I have a lot of started projects that I need to finish - some that I can't find all the parts to. That is why decluttering and organizing has become my priority at this time.
I am missing the hoop for my embroidery maching and I wanted to make lace ornie this year. Perhaps I will get them done for next year.

I did find and finishe up some more things from card and scrapbooking classes I took over the past 2 years. The layouts are now ready for pictures. I used 2 of the cards yesterday too.

Granny, is your wrapping finished? I thought I was done and put everything away. Last night while I had dd at Tae Kwon Do, DH pulled everything out again so he could wrap presents. Hopefully I can get it all put away today.

Hey ladies - I really need this group, but not just for my craft room, for my whole house, inside and out. I have been working on my craft room and am up to 80 UFO's so far, so am really trying to get some of those finished. I also have a house full of stuff that people have given me over the years because I just don't know how to say no! My goal for 2013 is to get rid of everything I don't use without putting it in the landfill and starting saying NO to other stuff coming in. If I don't I am afraid I will become a hoarder - LOL. I got rid of a load of scrap metal a few days ago and have a guy coming tomorrow who says he rebuilds broken furniture and resales it. We will see if he takes anything. Also, a guy is coming to take my old firewood that I won't bring in the house (full of bugs). That will give me room in my storage shed. Plus my sisters will be here on Saturday to sort through some craft supplies I don't want and I have four boxes so far for Goodwill. Guess I am on my way.

Welcome Headielamar. Sounds like you are off to a great start.

Granny, I don't think moms ever stop worrying about their kids and I don't think it is foolish either!

My sister was here over the weekend and we finished up 2 albums that she wanted to make for a trip she is taking my dd and 2 neices on, so those have left my house. We also sorted thru some of the stuff we bought when the scrapbook store was going out of business and she took some of that home with her as well.

Yesterday and today, I am working on some unfinished cards from classes I took and once they are done, I will be working on using stuff from my stash to make birthday presents for the 3 January bdays in the family.

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Clutter Cleaners Headielamar! It's really helped me. Senior care homes and schools also take some craft supplies. I gave a box full to the local 'Head Start'(pre-school). Just 15 minutes and post, post, post.

mira'smom....Thanks for the kind words. The kids all got home safely. DD said it only took her 2 hours to make the 45 minute drive from work to her house.

I was out of action for a couple days with another arthritis flare-up, but I'm back at it again. I cleaned off the shelf unit in the laundry room. Boy, were they a mess! Christmas decorations are down, a little early for me, and are all packed and ready to go back to the attic.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

Welcome to Clutter Cleaners Headielamar! lt sounds like you have already made a great start. Just keep it up. Posting what you have done is always a encouragement, too. There is just something about seeing it in black and white that will give you a boost. lt also encourages others, too.

Mira'smom, sounds like you have been productive, too. Where are they going on their trip? Way to go getting their scrapbooks ready beforehand. What are you making for the birthday gifts?

Granny, glad you are feeling better. And, yes, we worry about our kids no matter how old they get. Guess it's a momma thing! l love Christmas but it doesn't feel good to get it all put away, doesn't it? Keep up the good work.

Me? My house is still fairly clean, but my craftroom is not. Frown l just can't seem to get with it. l've been trying to decide what to do with my DGD's crafting stuff. Trying to keep it separate is just not working. l bought her a plastic 3 drawer roll around set but for some reason it's now full of junk! Gotta try something else.

Then there's all the fabric l bought and was giving this fall that still needs to find a home on the shelves.

And the air mattress, pump, and bed covers need to be put away from my kids spending the night Christmas.

May seeing it written down will also encourage me to get it done!

Eveyone keep working and posting. l will get some work done!

Rainbow some days that is about all I accomplish. The plan is a trip to Chicago. The albums are really small - top 5 things about my trip type thing. We figured that with it being this small, they were more likely to complete them. My dd and one of the neices have bigger albums for trips with thier aunt but they don't seem to be interested in spending much time on them.

Granny, I understand about the days out of action. I have arthritis in my knees and somedays, they just won't let me get anything done.

I haven't started the presents yet - still trying to see what I can make with what I have on hand. But I did clean out the rest of the bedroom closet and one of my dressers. I have a bag of clothes to donate now.

Today dd goes back to school, but dh is off work, so he and I will go do some decluttering of our wallets restocking the freezer. I like to do it while I have him to help.

I've been cutting odd pieces of fabric for bindings, quilt top projects etc. The pieces I can't use go into a bag for a friend who puts together dog/kitty beds for the Humane Society. She makes them up pretty quickly so we are both getting rid of "clutter".

Thanks for the welcome.

Well the guy didn't come for the furniture, I don't understand why people make detailed plans and just don't show up! Oh well. Yesterday I did get rid of 7 large dinner plates that I haven't used in years and 5 packages of Pose pads that were taking up space in my craft room closet.

I did more cleaning in the laundry room today. It's surprising how much stuff is stashed in there to be put away later.

Count your blessings, no matter how small they are.
